42 Crore Weekend For Housefull 2 – BOI

Housefull 2 has collected around 42 crore nett over its first weekend. The approx breakdown for the weekend is 13.25 crore nett on Friday, 12.75 crore nett on Saturday and 16 crore nett on Sunday. The collections have been been affected by IPL matches and regional films which makes the 42 crore figure even more impressive.
On Friday Maharashtra region was hit by IPL and then on Saturday the West Bengal and Mysore region which always shows Saturday growth was hit as collections came in lower in both circuits.
The box office is being hit depending on what team plays, if its a Mumbai match then that circuit gets hit and if its Kolkata match then that circuit drops.
In Punjab the collections took a huge hit due to a Punjabi film as the weekend came out just 3.40 crore nett approx in the circuit. Despite the IPL and regional film factors against the film, it has still emerged with a very good weekend and by far the biggest for an Akshay Kumar starrer beating the 36.50 crore nett figure of Tees Maar Khan.

Lets suppose at a mininum the film lost 2/2.5 cr each day thats makes a total loss of 6/8 cr
So had it been a normal release it wud have done 50 cr+ which no april release has ever done but as i said clashing with IPL and these other hurdles was a risk but thankfully the risk has paid off, 42 or 45 whatever the final wknd maybe there is no doubt its a HUGE wknd
Now lets hope monday sustains well as there is a Mumbai match tonight…if HF2 manages 6 cr today then with 2 open wks its set for a good run…

0 2i hope for akshays sake that H2 does more than 150crs, but to say that IPL dents the collection of movies is baseless, Imran Hashmi proved this last year when IPL was still relatively exciting, this year even the tv ratings of IPL are poor, and to say IPL has packed houses is a lie, when i saw the match on tv a couple of days back there was an extremely poor crowd gathered in the stadium, IPL can run 1 more season max because it’s all downhill from here.

3 0@tashan – Crowd was going wild during the trailer of RR which is rare thing in mplex in Mumbai. Though there were other trailers also but response to RR was different, just fantastic. As it is it was good on TV but in theater just mind boggling with the crowd after it. Go man go…. watch it nowwwwwww !

which ipl have u been watching? till now all the matches have had 95-100% occupancy… even yesterday afternoon match was full in jaipur..even eden garden was full with 75000 plus occupancy… nd tv rating have nt come till nw fr ths year… so what r u talking about do u even know urself??

But yes, 42 cr is a very good number on its own. The presence of regional films came as a surprise to me, so good to know that despite regional biggies, HF2 still managed a great total.

0 0Watched HF2 – The best ever comedy film i have seen from the time i was born. Its better than the best. All i can say is wht Pasta would say – I am jooooookingggg…
On serious note – Film was very good and for me pasta and john are the ones who stole the show. Some funny moments were so hillarious that i couldn’t stop laughing. Climax was the weakest point but it was all expected. Should give credit to Sajid for giving equivalent role for both john and Aksay and i was impressed with many different expressions he (john) made. It was Akki’s best film after ddd. I loved his act in HF2.
last but not the least – I didn’t had any faith or respect for Sajid after HF though i liked his Hey baby but after HF2 i would say he understands audience and really connects with them.
Ritesh, boman, rishi and randhir were all good as well.
It should easily cross 100cr and i wish best of luck to Akki, sajid and john for their future projects.

0 0First of all Don2 collections are 106 not 110…and trending is 2.25 acc to which HF2 needs 94 cr which should be a cakewalk…..(Small details matter)…I guess Hf2 is a better liked movie than Don2…may be critics reviews were better for DOn2 but the buisness of Don2 was driven mainly by Multiplexes whereas Hf2 is being liked both by Single screens as well as Multiplexes….
Ready had a trending of 2.8 from 42 cr to 121 crs and G3 had trending of 3.1 from 35 cr to 107….So we are expecting similar figures from Hf2…which should take it to 110 crs if trends at around 2.60…….. -

Like, I like salman in movies like Garv, Wanted etc. Off late because of few fanatics here on NG who praise salaman as their GOD and abuse others stars, forced me to dislike him in addition to the movies like Ready and Bodyguard which were nothing more than craps !
