But Private companies keep working.
So Compared to National holidays like EID, Republic Day or Diwali, you can say its like 50%-60% holiday.
But yes its distributed all over India, not just few states.

I seen it, the film is highly entertaining, it has good comedy, some great action secenes, and drama.

1 1Good Friday is not much of a holiday in India! Christmas and Diwali always have holidays. But not Good Friday! We never got holiday on Good Friday both in school and college! It’s no ”proper” or ”’full fledged” holiday in any way.

And since it is end of the year, many working people also take leave. That time of the year is anyday more profitable for releasing movies than April. In April, schools re-open, and most universities have final exams, there are also college entrance exams. It’s not just ”threat” of IPL that can affect a film.

- IPL did not affect HF-2 but working days or Diwali celebrations or Bhau Beej etc. did affect Ra One!
IPL does have effect and so do other factors like exams etc. – since April is not a festive period like months in last quarter of the year.I think HF-2 has done pretty well considering its time of release. And I believe it could have done way better had it released at a more opportune time (even if its content is nothing much to boast of).

I am being ”kiddish”? Yeah right!
It was not just about you or your SRK. I commented because in past people used to trash Aamir saying, final nett does not matter or trending is no big deal, only opening matters. Or star power is measured only on basis of opening and not final nett.
So what if Don 2 has been declared a hit? Some sources even declared Ra One as a hit!
And I was only pointing at hypocrisy of fans, who are now taking digs at an Akshay Kumar film and bringing stuff like inflation etc., but ignored same factors in discussions of their star’s film.
A film beating 3 year old Ghajini by a small margin despite inflation, festival release period, wider release, dubbed versions, 3D versions and whatnot – is nothing to brag about.
You are saying that Ra One was accepted as failed venture, but most other fans defend it as a clean hit and some even call it a BB (I am not only referring to comments on this particular site).
I hope you also apply same yardstick to yourself – ”go beyond fan wars” while discussing other stars’ films. Thank you for the free advice to me though.
