TOP 5 reasons why Department rocks!

5. MINDBLASTING BACHCHAN

RGV has once again given Big B an unpredictable character, that’s delightfully rich in grey shades. Bachchan’s wicked laugh only proves that he is having lotsa-fun, as he is not playing the politically-correct patriarch for a change.

4. GOOD COP-BAD COP

After playing the troubled Raghu, noble Munna and evil Kancha, Sanjay Dutt finally gets to play a no-nonsense cop with an edgy mean streak. Dutt has the ideal body-language of a NYPDsque bad-ass cop while Rana Daggubatti nicely complements Dutt’s persona with his self-assured attitude.

3 GRITTY RGV RETURNS

After making his fans dizzy with all those topsy-turvy camera angles, RGV finally seems to have brought back the raw, straightforward, gritty action that made Satya and Company so memorable.

2 ABHIMANYU SINGH

Abhimanyu Singh aka Bukka Reddy was the highlight of Rakta Charitra. His performance as the foul mouthed, serial rapist, sex maniac was a ‘villains-we-love-to-hate’ moment. Since that film did not get the response it deserved, it looks like Varma has cast him in a similar mould-But on a larger and more mass-appealing canvas.

1 BACHCHAN ‘BAJAOS’

Ardent Bachchan fans swear by his long drunken conversations with Amjad Khan in Satte Pe Satta and Romesh Sharma in Hum respectively. RGV, a self confessed Bachchan fanboy, seems to have recreated a similar moment between Big B and Rana. The former goes on and on making a monotonous, repetitive speech and the latter simply completes the conversation with a standard response, each time Bachchan nudges him. In this case Rana does a fill-in-the-blanks and completes Big B’s lines with a colorful verb.

In all the trailers that I saw Yesterday following are in the order:-

    1. Department – Great promo. Amitabh and Sanjay Dutt both looks in form.
    2. Tere Meri Kahaani – Mixture of Mausam and SRK Romantic Movies. 1st part looks very good.
    3. Rowdy Rathore – Over the top. Singham had much better trailer, even dialogues were bad.
    4. Dangerous Ishq – Joke what else I can say. Another tell me o khuda type.
    5. Kya Super Cool Hain Hum – Cheap and Pathetic.
