In pics: Salman-Aamir shine at Ambani’s star-studded bash for Sachin
![]() As controversial author-cum-columnist Shobha De aptly tweeted a few days ago, it was certainly the “biggest bash in town”. And, it was ‘big’ in every context imaginable. Hosted by the richest man in India, Mukesh Ambani, to celebrate the 100th century of arguably the greatest sportsman to have come out of our country, Sachin Tendulkar. In any case, when you have an amalgamation of Cricket and Bollywood, the end result is naturally big. And the party was attended by almost all the big names of the Indian film industry, Lataji, Salman, Aamir, for starters. Monday night turned out to be quite a starry night in every sense!
As the IPL season is about to begin, the passion for cricket will gradually creep in. And this party was just the beginning of many an affairs to come. The guest list included the unofficial biggest fan of Sachin, Lata Mangeshkar. Then we had the ‘Dabangg’ Khan and the ‘Perfectionist’ Khan in attendance. Hrithik Roshan was also present with wife Sussanne. Rani Mukerji, who had just returned from London after celebrating her birthday with the Chopras, was there. Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha, Ashutosh Gowariker, Kiran Rao, Karishma Kapur, Subhash Ghai, Ritesh-Genelia, Shankar Mahadevan, Pritam, et al formed the Bollywood attendees. Cricket was represented by Virat Kohli, Shaun Pollock, Jonty Rhodes, Robin Singh, Sunil Gavaskar, Ashish Nehra, Ravi Shastri, Kris Srikkanth, Harbhajan along with Geeta Basra amongst others. While business and politics had Vijay Mallya, Vilasrao Deshmukh and Raj Thackeray as the most significant guests. Nita and Mukesh Ambani were the most gracious hosts. Well, with such an envious guest list, it certainly was the party to attend in town. Too bad for us, lesser mortals. Here are some of the pictures:

0only in india can such a great sportsman be ridiculed like this..shame shame
@jtw,alpha1 – u ridicule his 100th 100 yet u forget his 99 other centuries without which india would have been a sporting mosquito..swatted away by every country..forget about winning world cup india would have been lucky to qualify..
about his 100th 100..pakistan defended a 230 odd score against the supposed minnows..and india couldnt defend 290..sachin’s fault?without his 100 india could have suffered a painfully humiliating defeat..
stop being armchair critics and go play cricket once..then ull realise the value of all those centuries

0Are you kidding me? How did the phrase “If Sachin scores a 100 then India loses” come about eh? India would have been as big, if not bigger, had it been without Sachin and his now-useless 100 centuries. That sort of sentimental crap doesn’t work anymore.
@jtw-prime example of follow the herd mentality
out of 49 one day centuries india has 33 wins 1 tie 14 defeats and 1 no result
out of 51 test hundreds india have won 20 times drawn 20 and lost 11
if u dont like sentiment hope u like this hard cold stats instead.. enjoy:Dabout the bangladesh match why dont u ever blame the bowlers..or do they not form a part of the team???

0@tony-thats why i dint mention your name in my comments..watever his reason for not attending doesnt bother me..he might be an ass outside but on the pitch we cant question his commitment..its stupid to blame sachin for losing to bangladesh wen he helped make 290 runs..pakistan defended 230
all this hoopla against tendulkar being the reason for india’s loss are by these armchair critics who have never played cricket in their life…what’s next? blame dravid for slow batting? i think not
u see i remember sachin’s 175 against australia chasing 350..wen sachin got out he left india wid 16 from 16 balls wid 4 wickets remaining which is more than u can hope for wen chasing such a mammoth total..yet india lost n guess wat…it was these armchair critics(internet warriors) again blaming sachin for india’s loss..some ppl are never satisfied..i seriously believe these ppl do not deserve legends like sachin dravid ganguly playing for their country…simple as tht…thankfully majority are different though
