Is BLUE sequel, titled ASMAAN, finalized?

I’d like to appease all Akshay fans and say that I am NOT writing this to degrade or negate Akshay in any way. Some news about a sequel suddenly popped up, so I thought I’ll write this post. Content in this is taken from several sources; for all I know, it MAY NOT be true at all, a sequel may not be happening. PLEASE STAY CALM. Treat this as a news report.

Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision reportedly spent over 80 crore on Blue. Now the producers are getting set to shell out for the film’s sequel, despite the poor performance of the film. Akshay Kumar titled the sequel Asmaan, making it his third title suggestion after Heyy Babyy and Singh Is Kinng. The cast of Blue – Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta – will be repeated in the new film, with probably the addition of another hero. The director has confirmed that his good friends John Abraham and Sonal Chauhan have already being signed for the project; he also said that it will be a three-hero film.

As per reports, Katrina is cast opposite Akshay in Asmaan, unlike the last time when she was cast opposite Zayed. In addition, Zayed will romance Neha Uberoi and John will have Sonal. Basically, the sequel will start off as a sea adventure and then move to the sky. Shooting may begin some time next year.  While Blue was shot in Bahamas, Asmaan will head to Australia, known for its stunning beaches and marine life.

Director Anthony D’Souza said, “I really want to work with John. All I can say is the producers are ready to back me with my next project with the same budget as Blue.” Sanjay Dutt said “Tony (Anthony) has promised that there will be more sharks and action in the sequel.” The producers are likely to host a huge bash soon where the sequel will be announced.
