I have been privileged to follow your career from the last 16 years and you never cease to enthrall me. When players are labelled as greats with just half of the centuries you have scored, your achievement is all the more special. When players excel in just one form of the game, you have conquered both the forms (tests and odis) of the game that you have played.
Even more great is your longevity, your hunger, consistency, passion and desire for the game. Your detractors might have wanted you to retire after just after your first game but you have given tight slaps on their faces, time and again, with you bat. You are the true God of cricket and I wouldn’t be surprised if you play in the 2015 World Cup and be among the highest run getters of the tournament. You have been stopping the heartbeats of a billion people with your dazzling stroke play, for more than two decades, and I don’t see any reason why you can’t do so for a few more years.

0Bit of an anti climax scoring the 100th ton against Bangladesh after such a long wait, still unbelievable achievement! Now the little master SHOULD gracefully announce his retirement. If he decides to play even a couple more months he’ll lose tremendous respect both in and out of the dressing room.

0 0I don’t think Sachin should retire from the game if he scores more runs then some of the so-called youngsters who are touted as the future of Indian cricket. And he is fitter than some of these youngsters. And why would he lose respect? Just due to a couple of poor series in England and Australia? Then I am afraid to say that more than half of this team has to retire immediately.

1 0you guys say he’s fit, he was panting during this knock and it was against bangladesh, he even ate up too many bowls, right now bangla is in a winning position, they probably wont win because they dont have the depth in their batting but if it was another team they wouldve beaten india easily, the whole point is that you need to give these youngsters time to settle into international cricket which none of them are getting, except raina and jadeja and that is because of dhoni, it doesnt take a genius to figure out that dhoni is unfairly favoring them, what about other people in the domestic circuit? It isnt possible that india is short on good batsman who can perform abroad, its a country that loves 3 things, cricket food and bollywood. Sachin has done great things and there’s nothing for him to prove or achieve anymore, if he loves cricket so much he can become the batting coach of the national academy and coach youngsters, it has been a while that Sachin and won india and match single handedly or even contributed in a win, beside this century his last big innings was in the world cup semi final which was an embarrassing innings in which he was dropped like 9 times and a shady lbw decision reversed.
