0 03 Idiots deserves the distinction that it is getting. 3 Idiots was unanimously & universally appreciated by the people of different age groups & probably is the most widely accepted movie in the last decade after munnabhai series & lagaan.

I don’t know if they deserve or not, but certainly the top 1000 IMDB voters, don’t think they deserve it. They have been rating BW movies damn low and their ratings matter alot more in the top 250 ones according to the way its calculated apparently. Here are the average top 1000 imdb voters ratings for all the highly rated Indian movies :-

0 0lol at IMDB top 1000 voters,how can they decide Non-Indians to vote on BW movies( i assume since IMDB is mostly used overseas and in general Internet usage is still more there…).
Till date i used to think IMDB is atleast bias free even if it reflected more on stars who have more urban/NRI friendly audience base.
But after this “Jabardast Khullasa” IMDB rating has no value for me, 0%. (for BW movies)

0 0But Doga, the IMDB ratings are almost correct since the no. of Top 1000 voters voting are hardly 90-120. So the rating we see, the main IMDB rating, is almost right and mostly consists of regular BW fans ratings. But do not expect an India movie to be in Top 250. The top 1000 will make sure it is a quick visit to the top 250.

0 0Another thing, I am not defending Top 1000 voters or anything but these top 1000 are those people who have been using IMDB since ages and have rated loads and loads of movies. Probably in thousands. So obviously, these people are some mega cinema fans. There are chances of film-makers, directors etc also being part of Top 1000. So obviously, BW will kinda seem underwhelming to them. They judge every min of movie and all that dancing, singing will definitely get to them
Imagine.. I just watched some few HW “good movies” and some foreign movies here and there and started losing interest in BW.. These people toh will spit on BW movies I guess :-/

you clearly do not understand the definition of Top 1000 voters. The top 1000 voters are not the only one who decide top 250 nor they are those people who have any added advantage, when it comes to top 250. It just means that those are the list of top 1000 voting people (and yes they do contribute to top 250) and no they are not the only ones. The most common idea floating around is that all those people who have voted more than 1300 titles are considered regular voters (whose votes count for top 250) which would mean that I am amongst regular voters too..and so are at least 5000 others. Top 1000 is merely a classification rather than a conclusion
