Drama!! High Drama!! Adrenaline Pumping Drama

January 31, 2012 | 2

Reality tv at its best. You can’t get better than this. High scale blanket media coverage. And what does it take. Just two celebrities to presumably fight. Actually one celebrity and one partial one thanks to his connection with his spouse. It cannot get better than this.

And apparently a country with over a billion population is glued to television and is actively devouring newspapers to know more about what really happened. It took the online world by storm at least in India. Discussion, fights, praises, condemnation, abuses, rigid defense, below the belt attacks and a frenzy that caught the imagination of many.

And we had not yet reached the climax, before the anti-climax took over. The news pouring in is that everything is sorted out. Relief will now take over fans and further confusion will occupy the minds of detractors. The curtains are drawn or so we think as now the saga goes over to the stage of hugs, tears, joy and cosmetic love all over again. Don’t we feel good about it?

Ahhh!!! We got played again. But who really cares. See it is a happy ending. Did you not see it coming. I guess you have not seen enough of the melodrama in our movies. You really need to see more of indian cinema to know that everything works out well in the end. The protagonist does not kill the villain rather he wins him over with his love. Did you see the power of love that we are teaching the world? Gandhi-Ji would have proud of this moment and Raju Hirani may have got the idea for one of the movies of his Munnabhai Franchise.

Will Joker will be a ridiculed disaster?

January 31, 2012 | 29

Right from JEM(which i liked) flop to TMK humiliation to getting beaten by SRK and having general Bad Vibes about himself in general online media.. Sirish Kunder is at the bottom of the barrell right now as far as personal or professional front is concerned.

Akshay Kumar is also not doing well, though HF2 and RR might do well, still Joker gives a TMK vibe to it. On top of that Akshay doing bad movies in last couple of years, even critics have given up on him.

Thus we have Joker, which even many Akshay fans dont want to get released.

I like to support ridiculed and down and out stuff sometimes but Joker might be too much i guess.

Yash Chopra to bring snow back in romance

January 31, 2012 | 23

LINK

He made Swiss Alps the most wanted honeymoon destination for newly wedded couples in India. The sub-zero temperature notwithstanding, for Yash Chopra films, snow clad mountains became the perfect backdrop for romance. Be it Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee Gulzar snuggling in a shawl in Kabhie Kabhi or Amitabh and Rekha holding hands and singing Dekha Ek Khwab in Silsila, Yash Chopra, snow and romance have been inseparable. And iconic. And now, the filmmaker who is returning to direction with the yet untitled Shah Rukh Khan – Katrina Kaif starrer after 8 years, is keen on bringing back the same white romance in his upcoming venture. Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Yash Chopra is busy location hunting. And this time, he wants his favourite snow clad mountains back.

The filmmaker confirmed that he wants a part of the film to be shot in a snow clad region. “It is being planned,” said Chopra.

Mirror learnt that the production house is busy hunting the perfect locale for the film.

50346931 Exclusive info on Dabangg 2

By Taran Adarsh , Jan 31, 2012 – 09:19 hrs IST
Here’s some inside info on DABANGG 2…

* Contrary to news-reports, the sequel to the blockbuster will have the same leading lady opposite Chulbul Pandey — Sonakshi Sinha. “This is not PARTNER, which had men with roving eyes, moving from one girl to another,” Arbaaz Khan smiles. Salman had wed Sonakshi in DABANGG and the story, therefore, will move forward in the sequel.

* Prakash Raj will enact the main negative role in the film. “He’s the negative force opposite Chulbul Pandey,” Arbaaz divulges. Deepak Dobriyal and Nikitin Dheer have been signed to enact key roles in the film.

* A leading studio has offered an unheard of price for the global rights of DABANGG 2, but Arbaaz has decided against selling the film right now. “I am in no hurry to sell the film. I have decided to wait for the time being. Will take a call later,” Arbaaz says.

Agneepath Has Strong Monday

January 31, 2012 | 18

Agneepath had a strong Monday as it collected around 7.50 crore nett as per early estimates and taking its first five day business to 69.50 crore nett. The drop is just a 30% from Friday which is excellent but the Friday collections were not that good.

The film collected well at most places with the biggest drops coming at high end multiplexes of of urban centres. Single screens held up strongly especially Maharashtra. The extended eight day first week should close around the 85 crore nett mark.

There is not much competition in its second week as none of the films hold much interest so Agneepath is likely to remain first choice until the release of another Dharma Productions film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

Why Shah Rukh Khan’s alleged slap’s most shocking!

January 31, 2012 | 2

Its hard to believe, that Shah Rukh couldn’t take Ra.One criticism too well.

Shah Rukh was trending the whole of Monday on Twitter, reason being his alleged fight with Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt’s party. The news was splashed all over the web, tv etc.

It has been reported that Kunder was beaten up by SRK as Kunder had written unflattering things about Ra.One on Twitter. The filmmaker’s wife has also confirmed the news clarifying there was no provocation from Shirish’s end.

However its hard to believe considering, Shah Rukh Khan mocked himself and Ra.one throughout the ‘Filmfare’ evening before heading to Sanja Dutt’s party where the fiasco happened.

Shah Rukh stated things like, “Ra.one ka sab kuch beeka, sirf tickets hi nahi beeke.” Ra.One’s every merchandise was sold out except for the tickets. He also joked about how producing Ra.One was a painful experience. He even laughed at Ranbir joking about his ‘overacting’ in Don 2 at the Filmfare awards last night.

Pc0270700 Aamir scores 90 crore deal for Talaash

Aamir Khan seems to have created a record yet again. Beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 2 by a margin of Rs 10 crore, the theatrical rights for his forthcoming film co-starring Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, Talaash has been sold to Reliance for Rs 90 crore. The deal between producer Excel Entertainment and Reliance was finalised last week. A source close to the production house informed Mumbai Mirror, “Rs 90 crore is a huge amount. Don 2 sold for Rs 80 crore and that was already an established franchise. This however, puts a lot of recovery pressure on Talaash.”

Trade analyst Amod Mehra however, did not feel that the amount was too surprising. “I think it’s a reasonable amount,” said Mehra.

Excel Entertainment and Reliance remained unavailable for comment.

Pc0270800 Chiranjeevi’s son to play Big B in Zanjeer remake

He will always be remembered as The Gentleman in Bollywood. And Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Tej is all set to make his debut in the Hindi cinema industry. Ram Charan will be seen in Prakash Mehra Productions’ remake of the 1973 classic Zanjeer. The south superstar’s son will essay the role played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original.

Talking about the Apoorva Lakhia directed film and co-produced by Prakash Mehra’s son Amit and Ram Mirchandani of Eros, a source close to the project told Mumbai Mirror, “The 27-year-old Ram Charan is already a youth icon in the south Indian film industry. His film Magadheera has become one of the biggest hits of all times in the Telugu industry. In his five year long film career, Ram Charan has done just five films and is known to be extremely choosy. He has finally decided to work on the remake of Zanjeer, which will go on floors in the next couple of months.”

When contacted, Ram Charan’s business manager confirmed the news and added, “He has given his nod to the project. However, we would like the producers to make the official announcement for the film.”
