Don 2 Creates Records Overseas
*** North American gross – US$ 550K on Friday from 164 locations. The film opened on Friday and beat My Name Is Khan’s opening day gross of US$ 445K and is also higher than the sum of the first three days of RA.One.
*** In UK the film debuted in the UK Top 10 on Wednesday and has collected US$ 527K to date from 76 locations with 3-D version accounting for 2\3rds of the collections.
*** Middle East has grossed $ 930K on Thursday and Friday which is higher than the first two days of RA.One (US$ 710k) and MNIK (US$ 750k).
*** Don 2 broke the record for the highest single day gross ever for a Hindi film in Australia where it took US$ 82K on Friday. The earlier record was Reliance Entertainment’s Bodyguard (US$ 74k). Don 2 has grossed US$ 136K in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

On the India opening thread, people are talking as if opening is the MOST important thing. Not the final gross and nett.
Why? Because there opening is ONLY the FOURTH all time best.
It means, by the same standards, all movies of Aamir from MP to Ghajini were flop because they didn’t open at ALL TIME BEST. -

2 0bottomline once again it has been proved that SRK is an NRI star. He makes movies keeping them in mind. All of his last 4-5 movies has been rejected in India. No wonder other stars are inching ahead of him in popularity, cus they all think of India and the Indian audience first.

0 0right all time fourth best opening day doesnt mean its good considering the third film in the list is Dabangg which was not only released more than a year before but also Don 2 is releasing with LARGE number of prints and HIGH ticket prices as much as upto 40%.
Even Ready is quite close to it which was released with 1900 prints and in a NON-festive season and with not increased ticket prices
Anyways only time will tell how this film will fare in INDIA and OVERSEAS both.

For every SRK Movie be it MNIK, Ra. One or now Don 2 you have same sentence Holidays, High Number of Screens & High Ticket Rates, etc. It looks like only SRK movies gets this opportunity.
But you don’t know Don 2 has released on working day not on Holiday day. Plus this is the highest first day collection ever on a non-holiday Friday. This is huge because music was flop, Trade was not excited on that Don 2 had 3rd or 4th All Time biggest Opening day which is huge achievement. Try to give due where it deserves.
Also I think you haven’t read BOI or Komal articles Don 2 ticket rates hasn’t been hiked reasons it is not an event movie, music was flop and trade was not excited. Keeping these things in mind cinema owners will be stupid who hiked the prices for Don 2.

I am not like you who lives out of INDIA and judges everything on the base of websites like BOI and KOMAL…I live in india (gujarat) in my town there are 4multiplexes(One of them is owned by my friend’s father) at all of them ticket prices are MUCH HIGHER than regular prices specially of 3D..Even my friends cousins living in different places(Banglore,mumbai,Ahemdabad) in india have told me same about the HIGH ticket prices of Don 2..So stop talking Rubbish
