Based on a traditional folk melody of Chhatisgarh. But it is the Rahman treatment that gives the song its zing.

The singer’s voice is so amazing that one overlooks the ridiculous abhishek and zhinchak pop beats in between.
Full marks to rahman for using the right singer for this song.

Utkal Sir, You are right, Its a chhatisgarh’s folk song. Very well used by Mr Prasoon Joshi. But i have a complain to make against maestro Allah Rakkha Rahmaan And Lyrical Supreme Prasoon Ji (my Personal favorite) that they never gave any reference or salutation to this song and claimed as original. Seems a case of minor Plagiarism.
