I often read that we indian are one of the most happy pepole of the world. Most of these survey are conducted by forigen magzine. Genarally one ore two scehwendian (Swedan or Finland) countries comes ahead of india. Earlier i felt happy about reading it and i too thought that it is the typical indian quality to be happy in any given situation. But lately i am changing my view. Now i think we,indians, are becoming cynical..passemist. Some days ago i read this article of Barkha dutt in HT.

From being a country whose most famous global export was a Mahatma with a naughty smile and benign manner, we have become a compulsively angry, often intolerant people. As we get more and more defined by our restless anger”

Though i disagree with barkha on many issue i somehow agree with her this article. There seems a growing tendency in india that if there are rich people then thier wealth must be with illigal means (case in point as genral people sees industrialist). If there are anything popular in mainstream then it must be crap. (Chetan bhagat, Salman’s movie). If there is anyone succesful we wait his/her fall. Everyone wants to see fall of a high or mighty.I call it socialist approch. Sab buisnessmen chor hain..Sab neta chor hain..Har cheej main baal ki khal nikalni hai. Only we are right and everyone is wrong seems the current mood of the nation. As Amrtya sen famously said ‘Aruguemantive indians’. Though being ‘Aruguemantive’ is a good thing but i think we are doing too much arguments. To put my case further i am giving Karan Johar’s example. He bursted in Bollywood in 1998 with an ATBB (KKHH). But in last 13 years i haven’t seen any director whom intellectuls (Pseudo ?) ridicule as much as they made fun of Karan Johar. No i am not going to his sexual orientation. I will just talk about his films. Everyone seem to be an opinion what kind of film he should made. How should be his direction. Everytime he announces a film people would say it will be crap. I mean why we expect that he should make this or this kind of film. I mean there are hundreds of director. Why everyone should make same kind of film. If we like Vishal bhardwaj and Anurag Kashyap then it is also true that there are viewers for KJO and Anees Bazmi type of films. Look where are Sanjay leela bhansali and Asutosh govrikar today and where is Karan Johar. He is ready with 2 films. They are releasing almost within 20 days and both are looking hot in BO. So if he wants to be sucsessful what is wrong in it ? What is wrong if Chetan bhagat writes for them who learnt english with the help of rapidex english speaking course (Including me) ? What is wrong if i doesn’t belive that sab neta chor hain and belives that Anna is talking too much ? What is wrong if i belive Welcome is not a crap movie but one of the better if not the best comedy.
