Ra1(Hindi) 3 day total beats Bodyguard 3 day total by 40 lakhs

The third day of Ra.One (Hindi) has come in lower than estimated earlier at 15.50 crore nett. This makes it a three day total of 53 crore nett. It is a record for first three days but by a very small margin.
The Tamil and Telugu versions have collected around 4 crore nett over three days which gives it a 57 crore nett all languages total.
The regional versions have performed better than any Hindi film before in just three days but there was big drop on third day and for the number of prints in play for regional version its an average performance.
The top first three day nett grossers of Hindi cinema are as follows.
1. Ra.One (Hindi) – 53 crore approx
2. Bodyguard – 52.60 crore
3. Dabangg – 48.82 crore
4. Ready – 42.23 crore
5. Three Idiots – 37.98 crore
6. Tees Maar Khan – 36.59 crore
7. Golmaal 3 – 34.81 crore
8. Raajneeti – 33.62 crore
9. Housefull – 30.97 crore
10. My Name Is Khan – 30.63 crore

Even in terms of Box office- they can’t understand a simple fact- that the business not achieved on Diwali is not a loss- it just gets delayed- people who didn’t watch the film on Diwali, watched it on the next two days (or will watch it today or Sunday)
BOI’s commentary of a 8 Cr loss due to Diwali is just blasphemous- the business gets transferred to the subsequent days-Almost the same gross as BG:
8 month promotional drive (BG had 5 weeks)
SRK after 1 nd 1/2 years (BG came 3 months after Ready and 12 months after Dabangg)
20 percent more screens and number of shows, increased prices
3D version at very high prices
Festive period of Diwali (5 day weekend in true sense) -

4 0Its really a sad state of affair that a film which was marketed for full 1yr (approx), had 20% tickets hike, releases in 3d as well as Tamil & Telegu just goes neck to neck to BG. Come on SRK fans: Lift ur hand and put it on your H.A.R.T and answer honestly..Was this the result that you were expecting? Crossing 100Cr was not the question since the film with so much hype and escalated price was bound to cross this figure at any point of time. 3 days/4days or 5 days or even a week. But the movie from SRK stable coming after almost 1.5 yr, surrounded by so much publicity & huge prints & 20% hike in prices of tickets deserved not less than 250Cr domestically atleast.
Bodyguard made 4 times over its Cost. Open ur eyes and accept the fact that ra one is a letdown. Its budget may not be recovered. SRK may earn money on table but his distributors gonna loose heavily. Rest my advice dont be a blind fan. Like what is likeable actually. Is this the SRK who was once known as King Khan? Sorry to say, but SRK fans are fighting a losing battle here just to satisfy their dented egos along with SRK’s. Once should gracefully accept that Salman and Aamir excel far far ahead of SRK today.I claimed that Ra One will drop heavily from Mon onwards and I will be proved right, just wait and watch.

0 0Ra.One And DON 2 have been sold to Reliance Entertainment pvt limited for 200 cr and 150 cr respectively. So, to recover money, Ra.One’s total revenue from all sources should be more than 320 cr and and for Don 2 it should be 230cr.

So with almost double the number of prints and double the number of shows, ra.one in three days manages to collect the same as Bodyguard. For a film which was supposed to break every record in bollywood history by big margin, this performance can be termed as pathetic only.
Cine-goers have given their verdict. They have not been fooled by the so called trade experts (say chamchas of SRGay – Komalangi, Torna and others). Writing is there on the wall for every one to see. With all the hype and hoopla this film now most definitely is not going to cross 130 crores in India. Thats for sure now.
