Producer-director Karan Johar is surprised by reports about films that his banner Dharma Productions is making.
It’s been reported that Karan has bought the rights of a National Award winning Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu. Buzz was that Karan will direct the film with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and the film will be shot in Haj.
However, Karan, who is in London with his mother, flatly denied the reports. He said, “I am not planning the remake of the acclaimed Malayalam film.” Further revealing the reason behind his London trip, Karan said, “I am in London to acquire the rights of a superb French film. If all goes well the French film will translate beautifully into an Indian love story. I can’t wait to get it going.”
The filmmaker is scheduled to attend IFFA soon and announce the release date of Agneepath. Karan is also gearing up to go behind the camera once again after two years with his home production Student Of The Year.
