    Sorry to barge in suprabh, i answered because you brought up Usual Suspects in your question to rex.
    I am sure you have your reasons for believing so but getting millions of people to pay 200Rs/10$ just to watch somebody dream is pushing it too much.

    SPUTNIK :- I am not a fan of these dream movies – hated Usual Suspects ending. Kevin Spacey is Keyser Soze – that everyone gets. The problem with these movies is that you can show whatever you want and then say it is all a dream/imagination/hallucination. The ending of Usual suspects is ridiculous because he is supposed to make up the whole story with names on the board & names below the coffee cup. Now how much of what he saw is real and how much made up?

    For the same reason I did not like Beautiful Mind either coz I now have to think “come on weren’t they other people in the room when he was talking to them?”. For this same reason I am not a fan of Fight Club, Identity kind of movies.

    Very well written. I agree in a way. Though I have been “blown” away by movies like Fight Club, Usual Suspects, Identity etc as soon as I saw them.. the minute I started to think about the movies, I started feeling .. “emptiness”. Its like I didnt know what to make out of the movies.

    I think the whole “Dreaming in Plane” theory in Inception is damn far fetched. Like Reggie and Rex said here, what about the whole starting one hour before they actually enter the Plane?

    @Reggie

    :) :) I understand how that feels mate

    You know thats what I felt after watching the usual suspects..Watching an entire movie full of crime and criminals and their plans..only to find out that everything was a lie.

    you know how they have conversations in some movies amongst criminals…when one of them says- “So I made up lie, and made sure the sheriff bought it and got the hell out of that prison”…..The usual suspects was a movie based on the aforementioned statement.

    When people can pay for and hail a movie that is primarily telling you a story that never happened in the first place, why can’t they do it for inception…Just think about it :)

    To be honest i don’t remember ‘The Usual Suspects’ in detail to have an opinion about it. Watched it when i was a kid. Then read about it when Chocolate released. I will have to watch it again to discuss about the movie.

    But Inception i saw thrice, twice in theaters and once on DVD. And as far as my understanding goes, that ‘its all a dream theory’ is way too far fetched. I am not saying i am right but that’s what i believe. I actually believe that Cobb gets home in the end.

    I didn’t like ‘Identity’ that much. I mentioned this when Ihab wrote about it in the weekly movie thread.

    I love ‘Fight Club’ not because of the twist but because of the innovative direction, fabulous camerawork, great idea, awesome music and great acting. There are a lot of puzzles to figure out in the movie other than the movie. That’s what i love about it.

    Please read – other than the schizophrenia and the twist[ and not movie]

    Totally agree…there are some movies which I adore to the core and Fight club is one of them….The suspense value isnt that much. To me it was clear that he’s walking in his insomnia driven half-sleep..but there’s so much more to look for in the movie (what all you stated above)

    P.S. The song where’s my mind (the pixies) was one of my fav song…even before I heard it in the movie….So , the first time I was watching Fight club and that song came at the end of the film–I was so thrilled…Since it perfectly matched the description of the movie…
