SRK influenced Eros International to postpone the release of Toonpur Ka Superhero from December 17 to December 24 as King Khan did not want TMK to be a solo release

The real reason why Ajay Devgn is pitting his Toonpur Ka Superhero against Akshay Kumar’s Tees Maar Khan

Ajay Devgn’s sudden decision to release his film Toonpur Ka Superhero with Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan on December 24 is being attributed to the doings of Shah Rukh Khan. But the real reason has lots to do with TMK’s hero Akshay Kumar!

B-Town’s latest war (which will get even bigger in the coming weeks) is between Devgn and the Khiladi. Insiders say the two stars, of late, have been running each other down due to the recent box-office clashes of their projects.

Deliberate decision

Says a source, “Ajay deliberately decided to release Toonpur Ka Superhero on the same date. He has been abusing Akshay’s latest flick Action Replayy saying that if it had not come out along with his movie Golmaal 3, the collections of G3 would have been several notches higher.”

Adds the source, “It was Akshay’s idea to release Action Replayy during Diwali. Producer-director Vipul Shah was not too keen but Akki was insistent. Ajay is aware of this fact and now feels it is payback time. He wants to eat into TMK’s business just like AA ate into G3’s share.”

Giving it back

B-Town speculation is that SRK influenced producers Eros International to postpone the release of Toonpur Ka Superhero from December 17 to December 24 as King Khan did not want TMK to be a solo release.

Reason? Farah’s decision to cast Akshay in her project did not go down well with SRK.

The source continues, “Though the Toonpur folk are claiming that as an animation flick, it is best suited for a Christmas vacation release, it isn’t an excuse Akki is falling for. He knows exactly that all this is Ajay’s doing to give it back to him.”

Ajay’s spokesperson however says, “This is not true. We are releasing Toonpur Ka Superhero on December 24 as it is a family/children’s entertainer and hence, is the right time to release during the Christmas holidays.”

Clash at the B-O

Vipul Shah’s Akshay-starrer Action Replayy clashed with Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 3 during Diwali 2010.

During Diwali 2009, the Ajay Devgn-starrer All The Best (which he had also produced) clashed with Anthony D’Souza’s Blue that starred the Khiladi.

Co-stars in three films
Suhaag (1994)
Khakee (2004)
Insan (2005)

The History
The Akshay Kumar-Ajay Devgn clash heightened after both the stars were seen together in Rajkumar Santoshi’s 2004 flick, Khakee.

According to those in the know, Ajay was appalled by how Akki would keep track of his every scene in the film and express his reservations if the other stars had more screen space and have his way on the editing table.

Earlier Ajay was not happy with the Khiladi’s interference during the making of Suhaag as well. Both the stars started off as action heroes and later did lighter comic roles.

They have consciously avoided working with each other since 2005. Producers have approached them but they would cite date reasons and steer clear of each other.

“Sahil – its no wonder people dislike akki when he has such fans like u”

Its not because of akki fans but its just the jealousy that you and your clan dont want to see him doing well, so you will rate everything of his down just to satisfy yourself.

  4. Ali

For general Info and specially for Sahil,
Kindly Refrain urself from Name Calling of other Members as well Abusing of other Members unnecessarily.
    Thanx in Advance.

  5. Naveed

Ali – seriously SOME akki fans on here are deluded.

Anyway congrats on Federer victory. He deserved it.

  6. Ali

    Naveed,
    Yeah Federer deserved that Victory.
Infact this Title was much needed for him to prove that why still he is ‘The Best’.
    Any way,
Thanks for reminding me about the start of the Tournament last week.
I was Really unaware abt it Infact I forgot abt year ending Masters’ Tennis Tournament.
    So,
    Thanx for that.
    Also,
Do u live near O2 Arena in London ?

  7. Naveed

Ali – no I don’t live near it. (I live in a town called Huddersfield). Its about 190 miles form London. When Federer won you was talking to other Naveed (akki fan). I was on my phone so couldn’t reply.

As a big Nadal fan I appreciate the class and elegance of Federer. Hope to see their rivalry for many many years to come. Am happy Nadal improved from the disappointment of last year and even though the final wasn’t as good as semi final of both matches (especially Nadal v Murray) this year the final was far far better than last year.

btw ive got to say that Nadal has a beautiful girlfriend. lol

Naveed – I hear you man! Always loved Salman, as much as I hate his movies :)

Buoyant – I cant find SRK’s interview but will find soon and post. Btw even in your article, they are quoting SRK. Though I agree that these journos can write anything claiming to be SRK’s quote.

Sahil – A suggestion – Write a heart felt letter to Akki. I once read a Salman fan do that. Who knows it might just make a difference. And I am not being sarcastic.

  9. Naveed

RJ – lol on the letter part. Yeah Salman has churned out a lot of CRAP. Hoping he’s turned a corner since WANTED (then he appears in a shocking MAMK). I feel he delivered a sincere performance and very good I may add in LONDON DREAMS and then with DABANGG he’s just reminded me of MPK and HAHK days. LONG MAY IT CONTINUE coz he does have a good lineup in next few years.

  10. RJ

I have seen the telugu Ready which the one Salman is acting in is a remake of. And if it is made in exactly the same manner, I can assure he has another winner in his hands. Hilarious situations, and fun family entertainer.

My Love Story – malayalam movie (Bodyguard) remake. I am skeptical about this one cos it didnt work for me. And neither for the local audiences there. Dunno why they are remaking that one. Tragic love story.

    Partner 2 – Ehhhhhh….not interested anyway.

Dabangg 2 – Heard Sohail Khan is directing it. So ehhhh again!

Kick – Another telugu movie remake of the same name. Great fun first half. Second half a tad stretchy. Overall a decent watch. Though the character in this movie will suit Salman to the T. You will know why when you watch it.

    Any other??

  11. Naveed

RJ – I’m enjoying talking to u buddy.

I’ll be honest I was very apprehensive about DABANGG (Arbaaz reason) but thankfully it went well.

    1) READY – every1 I’ve had a chat with is saying good things about the film. Hopefully It’ll be a good film

    2) BODYGUARD – Many months back I was talking to a non Salman fan and he said that this role will suit Salman very well (with few adjustments). It’s been confirmed for 31st Aug (Wed so 5 day holiday). Eid and Salman so hoping for the best

    3) PARTNER 2 – don’t know when there starting but it’s definitely David Dhawan not Sohail directing.

    4) KICK – again also hearing good things about it.

I don’t talk about films which are not even finalised so at the moment these 4 and more specifically READY.
