Akshay Kumar’s Top 10 Remember able Movies
One of NG member said last night that Akshay does not have any remember able movie in his 20 yrs career.
I was surprised when I read it. How come a person who is in this industry sicne last two decades and on the top 3 position does not have any remember able and trend settled movie?
But later on I got that we dont need to become baby with a baby.
But I will give him answer.
Akshay’s top 10 remember able movies which other super stars yet to do.
1. Khiladi
Story about two couples and their college life. Suddenly their lives changed when one girl of them got murder by an unknown person. How other three friends find out killer movie is about that.
Khiladi was trend settled for Akshay then after success of Khiladi Akshay got 7 more Khiladi title movies even special appearance in Om Shanti Om was also related to his Khiladi Series.
2. Sangharsh
Critical acclaimed and class movie. Akshay is a prisoner who knows every single thing about world through his sources. How he helps a CBI officer to arrest a serial kids killer. Movie didnt work but still critics give the examples of Sangharsh and Akshay’s performance as Professor Amar Verma.
3. Jaanwar
after consecutive 14 flops Akshay’s comeback Jaanwar which was critical acclaimed and Box Office winner. Still according to BOI Jaanwar’s Distributor share in Bihar circuit is next two 3 Idiots. How can we forget Akshay as Babu Lohaar?
4. Hera Pheri
Hera Pheri a cult class comedy. A trend settled comedy which opened the doors for decent comedies. Paresh Rawal’s starting as an comedian.Priyadarshan needed to comeback after three consecutive failers (Saat Rang Ke Sapne, Kabhi Na Kabhi and Doli Saja Ke Rakhna).
Do I need more about Hera Pheri?
5. Ajnabee
Ajnabi is one of the best thriller in last decades. Thriller franchise has Abbas Mastan only in Bollywood. Wife swapping promos made every one crazy. Akshay got best film fare villain award.
6. Aankhien
A new director (Vipul Shah) and New and not very familiar hero (Arjun Rampal) and a dry subject. According to trade if Aankhien released now it could be Akshay’s biggest hit. How can you believe that 3 blinds will rob successfully a bank in front of 100 people?
7. Waqt
Best father son relation movie. Akshay Kumar head to head Mr. Bachchan. fun, emotions, drama and superb climax. For me Waqt was Vipul’s best work so far.
8. Jaan e Mann
A geek how he turns into a sober and a decent person. How he wins the heart of a his queen? however Jaan e Mann didnt work but still Sallu and Akki fans give the examples of it. Critics loved it and they are still thinking why JEM couldnt work on box office.
9. Namaste London
A desi boy how he wins the heart of his English-Punabi wife? How Vipul shows the cultural differences and spoiler of new generations who were born abroad? NL considers best work of Akshay so far.
10. Bhul bhuliyaan
psychological drama, horror flick in a nice and decent comedy mood. Akshay’s entry gives the new birth to the movie. Priyadarshan’s best work after Hera Pheri.
I wont say any thing else except list of these movies. Don’t think list finishes at 10. I could include Mohra, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Khiladio Ka Khiladi, Awaara Pagal Deewana, Aitraaz and Khaki. But I think these 10 are enough for this moment.

0As per aamir in comedy, the highest rated comedy in Hindi films AA< has aamir in it and he hasa Filmfare nomination in it. In fcat aamir has got a Filmfare nomination for every comedy or romantic-comedy he has cated in : AAA, 3 Idiots, / Rangeela, Hum Hain rahi pyar Ke, dil Hai ki Maanta Nahin.
As for aamir in action he has again got Filmfare nomination for every action film he has acted in : Ghulam, Sarfarosh and Ghajini.
He has got Filmfare nominations for Romantic films :QSQT, Dil, Raja Hindustani
He has got FF nominations for Drama: Rakh, JJWS, RDB,He has got Filmfare nominations for Period films ” Lagaan,
He has got Filmfare nomination for historical films : Mangal PandeyNow you decide who is Federer.

1 1AS for comic timing I think Govinda, Salman, Aamir and Saif are any day better. Watch Govinda in Hero no 1 or any film of his for that matter , Aamir in AA or 3 Idiots or Rangeela, Saif in Dil Chahta Hai., Salman in AAA or Dabang.It is not the length of comedy but quality of comedy we are talking about.

My simple question is where were you during the horror run for Akshay Kumar in 2009?
As for Akshay Kumar having success in every genre, lol, so you define Tasveer (his only science fiction film) as a success?
Out of that above list, about 4 are remberable for me: Khiladi, Hera Pheri, Namastey London and I have to say I was impressed by Akshay Kumar in Ajnabee,
the other 6 are forgetabble, and its no surprise to me that of those 6, it is 2 of Akshays recent films: Jaan E Mann and Bhool Bhuilaya that are the most forgettable.
Nor is Akshay that much of a comedian IMO, films like Housefull, Bhagam Baag etc are not comedy these are just brain dead masalas.

When Aakrosh trailer released then all you guys said mind blowing movie. Why akki rejected it? he is mad.
Now have a look on BO collections. Life time is less than Akkki’s weakest release KM’s first 2 days collections.
First you guys have to give sense and brain to audience then talk abt it. -

Tasveer deals with a concept that is not real, man cannot enter photographs and look into the future. The fact that he is entering a photograph makes it “fiction” ie NOT POSSIBLE, the fact that he is going into the future means time travel which is a SCIENTIFIC concept thereby making the film SCIENCE FICTION, ur right it is also a thriller as it was meant to thrill. But i fail to see the supernatural angle, supernatural films deal with the occult and paranormal beings which Tasveer did NOT have in its plot concept (and please dont quote wikipedia here). If ur gonna talk about genres at least know how to define them.
And how are MNIK and Ghajini Sci-fi, lol, both films deal with very real concepts: Aspergers Syndrome and Anterograde Amnnesia, hardly fictitious stuff.

It deals with the occult, the idea of bad spirits and vengeful jinns which depending on ur religious beliefs (if any) is a very real concept. I would place Bhool Bhuilaya as Black Comedy/ Supernatural thriller that envokes fun from a serious concept.

lol mate ur still not getting it: i did not say that every film that deals with premonitions and visions are science fiction, cause that would make the sixth sense a science fiction film which it certainly is not.
The fact is that in Tasveer, the power that Akshay Kumar has allows him to time travel, which is a concept that bends the laws of physics and thereby makes the film science fiction. Enough said. Within the contect of the film, the idea of being able to go back and forth in time makes it of the science fiction genre rathr than the supernatural genre.
And by the way Sci-Fi means SCience FIction, not Science Fantasy (where did u get this from?), Fantasy is a term given to any concept that is not humanely possible (e.g the world of Harry Potter), time travel might be possible in terms of black holes/white holes so therefore it is Science Fiction for now. Fiction and Fantasy mean different things within the context of films.
To elaborate: I Robot is Sceince Fiction, in that the concept of Human like Robots is currently a pipe dream….but it could happen, Japan has already created a Robot that bipedal.
Harry Potter is Fantasy, (the term Science Fantasy is rubbish, fantasy and science dont mix), in that elves, dragons, wizards etc dont exist they are a figment of imagination which has nothing to do with science, they will never happen and nor is there any evidence to suggest so.
Tasveer is not a fantasy film, there is enough evidence to suggest that time travel is possible, this means it is a fictitous film for now, the concept of time travel makes it science fiction.

yes everyone that sci-fi is science fiction, i was talking about the similarities between Fiction & Fantasy. both the term more or less deals with the concept of “unrealism”…but the reason why it is called science-fiction & not fantasy ?? cause that’s way the experts have coined those terms.
Completely agree with u that fantasy can remotely b real & Sc-fiction is the desire or the pedestal where we want science to reach.

U said akshay’s powers lets him to time -travel..ok, but how he does it!! with the help of his supernatural powers & herein lies the problem which restricts tasveer from entering into the sci-fi region.
now there are are some superheroes like superman & flash can open time-portals with their super-speeds (a scientific explanation).
now is any such explanation given in tasveer ?? just he has powers & with the help of it he can witness the events of the photograph for the next one minute . The reasoning is a big blahh !! that’s why i will tag tasveer more as a supernatural thriller than a sci-fi thriller.
For me the supernatural elements clearly over powers the sc-fi (if any) elements of the movie & that’s why it should b considered as a supernatural thriller than a sc-fi one. -

0 0I m no Akki hater. but really films like Jaanwar and Jaaneman dont desrve to be in the list.. I would have put GM there.. It was a nice movie….As far as Akki as an actor is concerned, he is a gr8 comedian actor or good action hero; however I cant see him in any nice romantic or social movie.. He is behind SRK and Aamir by far.. When he does emotional scene, 9 out of 10 times i feel like laughing.. But i dont think anyone can come close to his comic timing… Wat say guys…

0 0Its not just about working in offbeat cinema, if only ofbeat film is a test of acting then abhey deol is a better actor than all the top 5 superstar actors. What make akki bigger selfmade actor is he didn’t work with so called great artistic directors but rose above with the so called average directors. He is there because he proved himself in mainstream cinema that he can act in different situation.
