The film has literally crashed in all metro cities like Mumbai with around 75% drop. Only in some smaller centres, the film is steadier with around 60-65%. Overall, the drop in collections will be 70%+. So 2nd week collections might not even touch 14 Cr. I will try to put a detailed comparison later.

On a serious note 79 cr is a typo for 79 lakhs … by these centers its a 70% overall drop in week 2 … week 2 is around 13 cr and HF 2 weeks total is around 57 cr.

agree with NR that it’s a typo.
I feel even if we take 57 Cr for Housefull after 2 weeks, which is 4 Cr less than boxofficeindia total nett after 2 weeks,it’s good. I think in the final tally, this 3-4 Cr difference may remain.
As week 3 has opened well, a hit looks certain by Nahata’s standard while Boxofficeindia may give it a superhit tag.

If at all i trust the collectons, it’s FI data. It has been there for long and has by and large trustworthy irrespective of actors.
Who owns this BOI as from day 1 it has been writing negative reports on Housefull. I have no problem with the data but like IBOS, this sie too interprets data with -ve connotation for certain stars.
Those who swear by Nahata numbers should expose these sites’ agenda. Why don’t they do it?

I could have done it and could have posted the producers total and would have spammed NG. But Akshay fans are different.
My single point view is that somebody has to be consistent. That’s why I appreciate Komal, Jogindar and Abid. If NR is consistent, i will appeciate him. His last 9 months views are consistent. His earlier views were ken from a different source. I hope he sticks to one source and expose fake numbers of other sites like boi.co.in

I agree with you that HF will not be anything more than a Hit as of now. It has never been claimed by me to be more than that as of now. Being an optimist and based on boxofficeindia news that 3rd week is stable i thought it may touch 75 Cr or so. Well if it doesn’t i have no problem. I am least concerned with few crores.

If films like Phir Hera Pheri, Golmaal Returns and SIK can come to hit and superhit status, then why can’t Housefull? Even Tom Dick and Harry with non-stars got to semi-hit status. So it’s about the genre.
Audiences are very lenient with the genre and its easy to reach hit status IMO. Which Housefull has – given that also opened very well.
Good for Akshay that he didn;t have another flop, but it’s really sad that he’s using his star power and talent for films like these. I mean, do your light films and comedies if that’s what you want. But surely, even within the genre, he can do better films than what he is doing. In a few years, his body of work is going to look abysmal.
