Salman Khan seems to have become the darling of the Rajasthanis. His Veer has open-ed to such a thunderous response in the state that it has taken everyone by surprise.
Jodhpur has been partial to this Khan ever since he was convicted in that city for hunting chinkaras. But Veer did in Jodhpur on Friday what seemed an impossibility till Thursday – it surpassed the first day’s collection of even 3 Idiots!
The film saw record crowds even in the evening (6 p.m.) shows at all the cinemas of Jodhpur where it opened (Bioscope, New Kohinoor Upper, New Kohinoor Lower, Nasrani and Nasrani Bioscope).
Why, patrons coming out of the cinemas of Jodhpur, after watching the film, were seen garlanding Salman’s picture on the hoardings and cut-outs in the cinemas’ compounds.
At Alwar, Bhilwara, Sikar and small stations of Rajasthan, the first day’s collections of Veer are of the kind never before seen in the history of those stations. Rajasthan distributor Sanjay Chhattar must be patting his back for having released the period film in as many as 75 screens of the circuit.
As if to thank the Rajasthanis, Salman will be in Jaipur, the capital city of the state, today (23rd January) and tomorrow, when he will make appearances in cinemas screening Veer.
