And Boxofficeindia.com are doing the best tracking. They have been updating their site with regular updates and reports. And their numbers have been the most accurate with the press release. According to the site, the movie fell a 27% in second week and the press release stated it fell 28%. Also, the numbers which Boxofficeindia gave for 3 Idiots would sum up to a 313 crores Worldwide Gross and Reliance said 315 crores. Pretty accurate.

Anyways, Wednesday and Thursday are going to be holidays due to Sankranti.. Do you guys think 3 Idiots can make a 30+ third week? And what about the fourth week? With Chance Pe Dance releasing, due to think 3 Idiots will be able to fall <50% or more than 50%?

Three Idiots has now hit the 160 crore nett mark as it grosses around 2.75-3 crore on Tuesday. The business on Tuesday was around 10% lower then Monday.

The week should end with Three Idiots hitting the 165 crore nett mark and it is likely to do add a further 30-45 crore nett in the weeks after. This would give it lifetime nett business in the 195-210 crore range.

There were two new releases last week but both were fairly small films, this week the film will face competition in the form of Chance Pe Dance which is the first major release of the year.

This is a comment that came on my blog on the 3 Idiots review, so putting it up. I don’t really know which ‘debate’ he’s referring to, but anyway….

My views are directed to you because I can not post it amidst ur debate with this other guy:
But let me post it here than being silent:)Can u paste it there?
    Thanks
    satya

“Well I am not Indian. I am Sri Lankan & I watched 3I in Colombo just a day or 2 ago.
I simply loved perhaps with all the flaws …mentioned. It cleared my lungs after a bad flue. It gave me little courage to be little outrageous & question the system and take risk.
I do it all the time but: in a very light hearted manner this guy Phunsuk Wangdu re affirmed all I believed as a teacher counselor and a film maker. And as a Buddhist.
“Be true to your heart: That if – if you have one:)!
Now when we watch a Bollywood movie we do not expect: repeat it to be an art house movie which comes from France or nitty-gritty reality based issue Cinema say from the Latin Americas.

This is a different art and caters for different audience to provide a certain kind of entertainment.
I think all most every body who was involved deserves a pat on their shoulders.
They some how reached the hearts of the ‘audience’ across the globe.
The Sr Lankans who might not understand all Dadagiri jokes were still laughing at some points like they were part of the drama.
I think there is a sense of genuineness at the core of this film
That is what matters in the end or that is what works at the end. I think.

Try making a list of negative things of your papa, mama or your girl friend or boy friend.
And try to analyse all that. But in the end most of us …clever, intelligent rational people will go back & love them because most of the loveable things in this world which had touched our hearts souls & minds ‘are in any case flawed’… yet we love them and will on loving them and believing in them.
Flawed does not mean that it is inhuman, down right stupid or a totally disappointing.
For instance…We need analytical & intelligent Idiots like you !
That is the joy of this journey called life.
May there Be peace – love & light !
    Satya.”

The comment which you have posted Sandy, is the best comment I have read about 3 Idiots and I feel exactly the same. I always like movies with a heart and soul.. And I generally stay away from the “realistic” depressing/disturbing movies from Europe which are hailed as the perfect art and masterpieces..

    Posting the comment on imdb..
