Could I have resisted watching this mad movie after glowing reviews by critics? Of course not. Should I have? Clearly. I am starting to think that praise any movie Aamir Khan stars in, and turn it into a boxoffice goldmine. He can do no wrong. How else can you expect critics lap up movies like Rang De Basanti and Ghajini (Please – I beg you to stop making these overrated movies sound intelligent), to feed into public brains as quality cinema – ultimately making box office ringing. Could these critics be hardcore Aamir fans?

I mean seriously, 3 Idiots as quality cinema with social message to boot, is stretching it way too far. It is this thought that Rajkumar Hirani seems to have taken too hardly on himself to correct society with his bland funny take on life. He’s going exactly the-Rakesh Omprakash Mehra-way, but in attempting different genre. Just give it a rest and make a genuine movie.

This is one of Aamir Khan’s best performances / movies? Seriously, have people lost their mind?
Note to other actors:
Boman Irani – Please retire because I can not tolerate any more in-your-face, over the top performance by you.
Kareena – just retire if you can’t act up, but than you hardly were missed when not on screen, or was it your role that was so poor? Sharman and Madhvan – your eyes spoke – “I will ride this movie on aamir”. Omi – interesting discovery.

Please add another overrated movie of 2009

Sorry MrCool but that was the worst review of 3 Idiots I have read. Your review or feelings or whatever u call it, just explained two stuff. Performances and what is Hirani doing. Where is the story? What about the Humour? What about those heart touching scenes? And how on earth could anyone tell Kareena to retire? Are you one of those guys who support dumb bimbos like Katrina shaking their booty’s to “Main tera dhadkan” but when it comes to Kareena, a beauty who can act, u want her to retire? She gave her most natural performance in a short yet effective role. And Madhavan and Sharman looking clueless? Is that the best you noticed in the movie? I am sorry, but what exactly did u smoke before watching this movie?

I am not bothered as to your negative assumptions on my taste in movies and cinema. But to answer tirade of questions in an attempt to adore this movie – the answer would be no. There isn’t much to talk about.

I will only go far in saying that Aamir Khan is a true genius of a talent, but his movies do not always reflect that, yet I constantly put him at the top because he gives that shining moment in cinema. 3Iidiots is not.

Touching scenes, some nice humor scattered across screen does not encapsulate cinema-magic moment in my views. Again, 3Idiots is not. You are entitled to your opinion however you wish to classify this movie.

I doubt if Aamir is a genuis of talent. But he has always manupulated the pseudo intellectuals of India to project his films are great and prestigous and he is a great actor. We should do away with this and look at his films realistically.

DDDhit, what you think is manipulation of pseudo intellect is actually hard work. Aside from Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan is probably the only second actor who devotes his entire physique to test, not to mention mental stamina to get under the skin of the role. Does he work on it and deliver to such credibility? I would say 95% of the times, definitely.

It’s not Aamir Khan the star or the actor that needs to be questioned, but his movies in totality do not merit outstanding praises most of the time as is the case with 3Idiots.

Yes Mrcool,Aamir works on his role more than any actor.Ans most of the time he is convincing in this decade.I liked him in RDB which I think is his best performance and his best film.
But the pseudo intellectuals praising each and every film as great
    and classic is not right.
