Today, 5 years ago…I launched a crazy idea called NAACHGAANA…

And today I say, thanks to our members, loyal visitors and harshest critics, we carry the battle scars and memories…and are still rocking!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAACHGAANA! Wow…I feel old. I’ve been with NG right from its inception, in its Google Group ‘Avatar’ (sorry, the JC film is very much in my system since I saw it!)

    And yes, NG has seen everything…its humble beginning in 2004, gradual growth in membership, its big step towards becoming a web portal, emerging as the most popular Bollywood site circa 2006/07, broadening into a wider family, fracturing into partitions, hitting an all time low and ultimately rising from the ashes as a phoenix…all the more wiser and stronger.

    NG has taken its fair share of hits and blows…but its still home at the end of the day. Like how being a Mumbaikar is my primary identity…on the web world, being an NGite is my primary identity!

    Here’s wishing NG a very very happy birthday and believing that it’ll go from strength to strength.

    Ofcourse we are looking at potential employees. The idea is to target the youth and establish some kind of a connect with them. This is just the beginning and we aim to carry out these kind of things regularly. People would be selected purely on the basis of their application and they may chose not to work with us

    why are u guys so stuck up yaar? you are one of the early guys at NG – dont make it so personal. Life is too short for that my friend. SS can be your favorite – but you wont lose hair if u come to NG at times. I know you detest me and so I say this – almost all the good people here frequent SS too – so why cant the good people in SS frequent NG.     Wow. Thanks everyone!! Seriously.

    I feel embarrassed getting the “thanks” as I was just one of many members who built this thing into what it is. So, in all honesty, it’s really a thank you to everyone out there who didn’t give up on me and what I was trying (and still am trying) to create for everyone.

    I am quite elated to see old members such as Jayshah, ILG, Chipguy etc join us all again, even if for this one thread.

    This birthday, when put into that context, seems a little bittersweet; even though differences have been had, I know I speak for everyone when I say we miss them (and others) and wish they didn’t leave.

    I sincerely wish and hope that they come back in a greater capacity.
