Director Sanjay Gadhvi was never really a talented director despite giving 3 hits with the Yashraj clan. Granted, he gave Yashraj a successful franchise with the DHOOM series, however that’s a series that runs entirely on the basis of it’s star-power and sex-appeal rather than any splendid direction. His first film away from the Yashraj camp looked promising on paper. With a title like KIDNAP, and a cast compromising of Sanjay Dutt and Imraan Khan one expected a taut thriller, however the end results is a lack-lustre film which leaves a lot to be desired for.
