I was never a huge fan of R.Balki’s CHEENI KUM, I loved the first half and was totally disappointed by the second half, and despite some charming performances from Amitabh, Taboo and Zohra Sehgal as well as a solid box-office run it’s not a film I hold in high regard.
PAA as R.Balki’s second outing with the both Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan seemed a lot more promising, not only was the movie to be produced entirely by AB Corp for a meagre budget of 14.75 crores, the movie was to star Amitabh Bachchan as a 13 year-old boy with Progeria. Curiosity was high and so were expectations as the unique publicity campaign of the film was unveiled. The premiere of the film proved to an even in itself with well over half the industry going ga-ga over Amitabh’s performance. So does the movie live up to expectations? Sadly, no quite as much as I had expected , though nonetheless the movie is still one of the years finest films boasting of an incredible performance from Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Arundhaati Naag as well as an surprisingly mature and endearing performance from Abhishek Bachchan.

Pa is too much hype – it didn’t work for me. Vidya balan was the best thing….i m not for BIG B getting all awards for PA…aamir as rancho and shahid from kaminey were much better…
