EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY ROHIT KOTHARI

The entertainers are back!!! The deadly trio- Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty, Paresh Rawal have arrived this November with their rib-tickling madness. From Hera Pheri to Phir Hera Pheri, the trio have again paired up for De Dana Dan, directed by one of the most known entertainers of the industry and the National Award winner Priyadarshan.

The deadly combo of Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty and Paresh Rawal are returning after more than 9 years and are all set to recreate the magic after a long gap. They surely claim to make it big at the box-office and entertain the audience to the core. Do they hold true to the expectations of the audience? The answer is yes.

The story revolves around Nitin (Akshay Kumar) working for the rich industrialist Archana Puran Singh as cook, watchman, house-keeper, driver and even pampering as well as taking care of her dog. Ram (Suneil Shetty) is Nitin’s best friend working as a courier boy. There is nothing great about the two lives except for their love Anjali (Katrina Kaif) and Manpreet (Sameera Reddy). However this also comes with few complications as both Anjali and Manpreet warn them either to earn money in life so that they can live happily together or forget their love forever.

Frantic and hysterical to earn fast money, Nitin and Ram plan to kidnap the rich Moolchandji. But somehow Moolchand escapes from their custody and police gets into misconception of Nitin being kidnapped; and actually who gets kidnapped is Archana Puran Singh’s dog. Thus begins the joyful ride of mistaken identities crammed of twists and turns.

And like the other films from the director this movie also experiences havoc towards the climax with ultimate hilarity and wittiness.

The direction has been the top notch and hats off to the director for bringing as well as handling perfectly the dozens of comedians together in a single film. The director gives ample screen time to each of his characters and never lets audience feel of any actor being forced into the film. The dialogues of the film by Jay Master are power-packed and perfectly fit the frame. The only thing that comes as a drawback in the film is Pritam’s music that gives a heard before feeling.

Akshay Kumar is at his best like in other Priyadarshan films. Suneil Shetty maintains the calibre and Paresh Rawal is incredible. Katrina’s presence is highlighted and is rightly felt. Sameera Reddy is decent.

On a whole De Dana Dan is worth watching.

Rating: 3.5/5
