So De Dana Dan yet, even though the film is s released . No Paa yet of course, sadly. But 3 Idiots is already at 3, and shloud easily reach no 1 by its release week.

Look at what Rajiv Vijayakar in Screen syas about the music:
Is the much-awaited, (over)long-overdue renaissance in film music finally happening? After the much-above-average music scores of Radio and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in the last two months, we get one of the most thematic scores since melody and the situational song began to get short shrift post-2005.
Shantanu Moitra’s compositions are simple, supple, catchy and on the face of it, deceptively ordinary – but that’s how film music should be, completely tailored to a film’s needs rather than to trends and obviously not showy beyond the demands of the subject.
3 Idiots thankfully needs no Punjabi or general (con)fusion but wholesome songs that fit the story and characters. To make a simple song that is instantly-catchy and lingers too is the most difficult and that shows how much effort the composer and lyricist Swanand Kirkire have put into hummable melodies like Give me some sunshine (Suraj Jagan-Sharman Joshi) and the infectious Zooby doobi (Sonu-Shreya). Swanand’s words are plain fabulous and the backbone of this score, excelling especially in Give me some sunshine (with the English portions of the lyrics by Shantanu himself), Behti hawa sa tha woh (Shaan-Shantanu) and Aal izz well (Sonu-Swanand-Shaan). Hear gems like Rishvat dena to khud Papa ne sikhaya/99% marks laaoge to ghadi, varna chhadi and Bakra kya jaane uski jaan ka kya hoga/Seekh ghusegi ya saala keema hoga and the depth sinks in.
Jaane nahin denge tujhe (Sonu) seems a shade too maudlin and high-pitched at first hearing but starts haunting you later. And Daniel B.George’s orchestral finesse is extraordinary.

Full marks to the team (including the film’s producer and director) for giving us songs that can be recalled easily, with tunes and words, by the common man – That quality went out in the ‘80s. With 3 Idiots, the warped priorities are set right – composition and lyrics (both quality and relevance) come first, followed by the vocals. And sound comes last in importance, which is how it should be. To sum up, 3 Idiots is a very intelligent score!
