A melodious song from the Film ” Jeevan Jyoti” released in the year 1953. The MD is S. D. Burman and the lyricist is Sahir Ludhianvi. The song is sung by Mohd.Rafi & Geeta Dutt. It is filmed on character actors with a very young Shammi Kapoor and Chaand Usmani with Shashikala in the background.

This song is one among the 167 duets sung by Mohd Rafi and Geeta Dutt together during their musical association which went on from the year 1946 till the year 1983. Geeta made her singing debut as Geeta Roy in the year 1946 and sang the song “Jai hind yeh hind ki kahaniyaa” for the film Manasarovar the same year. Even after her untimely death in the year 1972, the song “Hum khoob jaanate hai” with Mohd Rafi and Sudha Malhotra was released for the film titled “Film hi Film” (1983). It was initially recorded for a film “Saajan ki galiyaa” which remained incomplete. The film “Film hi Film” (1983) was made from the portions of many such films.
