Even CC2C was said to have a worldwide promo with Dark Knights. What eventually happenned was a worldside promo in desi theatres only whereever DK was screened.
Scary indeed. The director who made Kajol run half a mile (in slow motion with tears running down like a river) to hug her son after he sings Indian National anthem in a UK school funtion, has directed this serious movie about terrorism, autism …
One would hope that he doesnt Kurbanize MNIK. But the trick would be to make the audience focus more on the emotions and less on the terrorism/autism angle. KJo is good at all that, he will do well if he sticks to his strengths rather than explore some unhitherto path breaking cinematic territory.
Aside, it was interesting that the heroine of Kurbaan didnt want her mom to see her steamy sex, but didnt flinch before gratuitously displaying it to everybody else’s mom. No wonder the movie failed.

MNIK – if its Karan Johars attempt at “serious” cinema like Kurban, it will be the laughing stock of Fox, much like CC2C was for WB.
Scary.

I guess this will be only for Desi theatres and India. This is a Select promo unveil. So December 18th is when we see MNIK promo.

Well said NyKavi, and I think that is what they will project in promos also – not a terrorism angle…but a love story with a twist.
