Kurbaan has taken a below par opening on its first day. Although the opening is decent at certain multiplexes, the film was expected to take a bigger start.
Multiplexes started the day with 40-45% collections and went to around 55-60% in the afternoon. The evening shows should do better.
Single screens have not shown a good response with collections in the 30-40% range for morning and afternoon shows.
It will be important for the film to have a good first week as next week will see the release of biggie De Dana Dhan which will take away a lot of screen space from Kurbaan.

This one is sureshot flop.
If the Trailer itself is boring who will watch it, regardless of the Nanga show.

Doga- I had said about the opening this afternoon, but I did not know that it had extended to Bombay also.

“I have also heard nothing great about the film, nor has it taken a great start in these parts.”

Yes Tango Bhai, the situation which is bad here is the single screens. Its way too low.
The % are even a notch below London Dreams, so i dont expect more than 15 cr weekend.

Blue and AJAB have shown us that Even Morning shows can open at 80-90%, so there is no excuse for these 40-50% numbers.
Be it LD or LAK.

Doga ji I agree with you that there is no excuse for this opening. There was good publicity, the music was popular plus the best predictor Komal had talked of a good opening.
I think this means that Saif too has been slotted in yuppy roles.
Still, let us see how it goes from here during the weekend as these are early days.

Whatever happened to Superstar Saif Ali Khan, the recently inducted member of the top 5 club.
