This movie is a blockbuster guys.
I saw Ajab prem ki gajab kahaani over the weekend. It was just superb. Ranbir, Katrina …man way to go.
Those who have not seen this movie, they need to take off and go now. The movie is carrying extraordinary buzz all over India and WOM is excellent.
This movie is definitely a defining moment in Ranbir’s career and it will be spoken about in years to come. He along with Katrina and Santoshi’s direction has given the youth a charming love story and you have to be in theatre to see the response.
Ranbir will soon be No 1 if he is not now. Writing is on the wall.

BTW, cyclone warning in Mumbai is going to work in favour of APKGK. Instead of going to office, nearest multiplex is now everyone’s destination to watch Ranbir and Katrina.

Finally checked this one out today. What an amazing laugh riot! Ranbir has arrived, and how. Bechare ka kaafi mazaak udaya tha, but the kid seems to have proved himself. Lambi race ka ghoda hai.
I havent seen Saawariya, barely saw 20mins of BAH. Saw WUS last week, and APGK today, and feel that between these last 2 movies, the boy has covered a good range. His comic timing is really great, one can safely say that he has filled this major gap from his comicly underperforming contemporaries (HR,JrB,Shahid, etc.). Now an out and out actioner/drama is needed from him to truely launch him into the absolute top league.

NYkavi: I didn’t like saawariya, but I definitely think it should be seen… On ajab prem, I think I liked it less than you: first half was quite funny and watchable, but the second half was wretched IMO…

Well, for the first time in ages, I cud take the kids out to a mainstream bwood movie and experience the satisfaction of seeing them laugh their guts out on harmless humor. Otherwise, its all about covering their eyes or ears in bwood movies that ought to be at least PG-13, but are passed off as PG.

RKS (not the member:)) always does clean comedy. Thats respectable!

That’s certainly true: it was the first G-rated comedy in quite a while (haven’t seen All the Best, heard that one was too)…

Although lets be fair and say RKS (the member) does clean comedy too…

Whether one enjoys the humor in Ajab or not, it is commendable that RKS stays away from any double meaning, sexist or crude dialogues.
Yeah Q, All The Best can fit into this category.

nyk – will take ur advise and check this movie out. although have to tell u – the few friends here who have seen this movie said it was total crap. so i am a little skeptical. Plus i usually go with rajeev masand – his sensibilities and mine seem to match more often than not. So that means I may actually like Aladdin more than APKGK

What really works in this movie is the supporting cast who feed off and make the situations humorous, especially the actors playing his parents. Most of it is Ranbir at his whacky best, and a whole lotta funny settings and dialogbaazi. When Kats learns that Ranbir also stammers, a guy in the audience says “shayad bhai-behen hain yeh”!. All the way till the end, where a messianic intervention is shown, and one cant quite decide whether to laugh at it or not.
