Pradeep Sarkar made a wonderful debut in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra produced PARINEETA(2005)-a nuanced and poetic adaptation of a timeless novel embezzled with some stunning performances from it’s principal cast, particularly debutant Vidya Balan. Expectations for his next film soared, and when the news came through that Sarkar had been signed by Yashraj to direct a female oriented film with a stellar cast like Jaya Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee and Konkona Sen Sharma expectations increased. So does the movie live up to expectations? Sadly, no!
