This trailer freezes halfway through — but it is looking better than I had initially thought (based on first poster, website, this partial trailer, and the superb Ilaiyaraja background music)…
I smell a hit….specially with that budget for this film to fail it will have have NO BUZZ/totally rejected outright…this could well end up a TZP deal IF it’s accepted majorly!
Initially, this film was a 0/10 for me absent the fact that abhi was in it (I was worried that amitabh would not be used properly). But the poster, first look trailer, and Ilaiyaraja have really interested me. Now, I think that Balki will be successful in keeping this film “light” (essential to the effectiveness of Cheeni Kum with the contemporary multiplex audience). I feel that Black-style “heaviness” would have been the wrong way to go with this film…
I liked first half of Cheeni KUm, second half went awry. so I see Balki as a 50-50 director.
I saw the promo and the first thing I thought was Benjamin Button. The concept is copied/inspired from there of course!
Illayaraja is a genuis…love the guy. I think most Tamilians are very passionate about his music and Balki is no different. Great he brings back Raja each time.

Illayaraja music is also a master stroke.
I guess Abhi is totally right that by First Saturday evening the recovery will be done(15 cr budget only).

Background score is an ace. Promo however doesn’t cut with me.

Too short to judge, music sounds refreshingly beautiful.

Thanks a bunch for fixing this!
Yes, this is an effective “first look” type of trailer, but really the music is so — pardesi has aptly said — refreshing, a clean and crisp sound…

Offtopic: question about NG poll: is this only about directors? If so, I recommend changing the heading to make that clear…

If Balki can keep it from being gimmicky and overly sentimental/dramatic, the film should be an interesting watch.

The background score is refreshing…Promo is ok…As Q said if it is a light heartyed film then it might do decent biz…
Coming back to budget of 15 cr..it is the cost of production or the selling price???
