London Dreams improves after Dull start, Alladin is Awful

London Dreams has shown improvement in business at multiplexes. The afternoon and early evening shows are are around 50-55% while late evening and night shows should be even better at around 65-70%. The jump is not huge but its a steady improvement as the day goes on.

Single screens are not fairing as well and will finish the day at around 40-45%. The first day all India average will be around 55-60% mark which will mean an average first day.

Aladin has seen awful collections all day in the 10-20% mark on limited showings. The film will turn out a huge disaster unless there is a big turnaround quickly.

Earlier in the day

The new releases of the week both of them which are big budget films started on a dull note.

London Dreams had a 30-40% start in the morning shows and improved around 5-10% in the late morning shows. If the film can show bigger improvement in the late afternoon and evening shows then it would be a good sign for weekend business. London Dreams has a huge a single screen releases and around 8-10-12 show release at multiplex

Aladin opened to an extremely dull response of 10-15% and will need to show huge improvement if it is to make any impact at the box office. The film has 4-6 shows at multiplexes.

    Pretty much on the expected lines.

    LD will fetch around 5 cr on the opening day(given if market max is 10-11 cr).

    Alladin is a goner.

    The opening of LD is a bit of surprise to me given the momentum carried by Salman post Wanted…But LD proved that salman is not able to crack the multiplex code…….Its better salman concentrateres more on single screen oriented movies to keep himself afloat…(There is no doubt that he has a huuge following there)

    Aladins BO response was not surprising for me..I was expecting 20-30 pct opening..It opened to 10 % opening…(So much talk about his superstardom even in this decade)…Clearly i overestimated Amitabh here…So Alladin vindicated my stand that the Bacchan family has the rare distiction of delivering atleast one disater per year(Since last last 5 yeasrs) and 2009 is not an exception..
