It was a packed Diwali weekend at the box office with Blue, All The Best and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna jostling for the audience’s attention and critical acclaim.
While All The Best won over the critics, Blue in spite of receiving only brickbats and no bouquets from the critics set the cash registers ringing.
“Blue has got the biggest opening so far out of all the three films. Now All The Best is also picking up,” Vikas Mohan, Trade analyst.
Blue has got an exceptionally well opening at the Box Office. More than what we were expecting,” said Debang Sampat, Senior VP Cinemax.

I think exhibitors and distributors (E&D) are happy as Blue was released on comission basis by its producers, and this is taking away some pressure from E&D and has reduced the breakeven number.
Tango bhai can throw more lights on this as i may be wrong.

You are right.
“I think exhibitors and distributors (E&D) are happy as Blue was released on comission basis by its producers, and this is taking away some pressure from E&D and has reduced the breakeven number.”
If Blue loses in a circuit on commision basis, both parties share the loss, if there is profit both benefit, in a layman term.
The biggest pressure on the exibitor and distribution sector is when there is a minimum guarentee or when its an outright sale of rights inaparticular circuit.
