Audiance is the King and Boxoffice the Prophet, what they say needs to be and will be accepted – Success or otherwise.

Raju Hirani and Aamir Khan have been getting along during the making of 3 Idiots… so far. Given Aamir’s reputation as a controlling actor, there were bound to be creative differences. The first crack has appeared as Aamir has disagreed with Raju Hirani over the promos that the latter has selected. The actor is convinced of his views, but Raju isn’t budging either. It seems like a clash of egos is in the offing as both, the actor and the director, have proved their creative mettle.

The conscientious Raju Hirani and an equally dignified Aamir Khan did not get into a verbal disagreement, but Aamir quietly left the office as he was entirely unmoved by the promo selection. The clash may lead to problems with the promotions as Aamir now remains unavailable to the film’s unit.

A movie of 3I’s scale needs to release promo with a wider release movie and LD fits the bill.

Of course, people have already seen the magic of Raju Hirani. I am excited for his direction and treatment for the movie unlike it’s an Aamir Khan movie. And again because of Chetan’s Five Point Someone it can attract audience not because of Aamir though Aamir has good fan base.

I think Paa trailer *might* overshadow 3I trailer on 30th Oct – in terms of freshness factor. Aamir has huge experience in industry and I believe he considers all such factors. He has an unbeatable “common sense” as an audience.

The trailer would be another reason to check London Dreams out in the cinema. WANTED was the first Sallu film since Partner I saw on the big screen, but London Dreams looks to have enough traditional/masala elements (the dosti-yaari, the (inevitable) misunderstanding, an earthy song (“Man ko ati bhavey”); not to mention the good luck, the pharmoola, oops wrong film) to get me interested. I think the casting of Devgan as the rock star is an odd choice, though; wish it had been an akshay kumar/salman khan film instead.
