Those who love to listen to old Hindi film songs, know (and love) Talat Mahmood for his Ghazals in silken voice. Very rarely one would associate him with a light hearted and comic song! Well, here is one such a fine example where Talat and Geeta Dutt are singing for Mahipaal and Shyaama respectively. The film is Makkhee Choos which was released in the year 1956. The MD is Vinod (Eric Roberts is his real name) and the lyricist is/are Indra Chandra.
This is such a fun and free flowing song, with simple words and rhythmic music. Enjoy this video which contains one stanza more than the record version. Talat’s voice is sounding so sweet in this natkhat song. Geeta of course is at her “chulbuliee” best!
