MUMBAI: Most Bollywood superstars are deep-programmed by women. And the reference is not to their wives or mothers but to the super-efficient women who run their professional lives seamlessly and unobtrusively. The female star secretary brigade.

First and foremost there’s the famed Rosy Singh, Amitabh Bachchan’s Girl Friday at Jalsa. Akshay Kumar, impressed by tales of Rosy’s unbeatable competence, now has his own petite supergal, Zenobia, to look after his work. “I’ve always wanted a woman to manage my affairs because women are trustworthy, efficient and unobtrusive,’’ he says. This is perhaps why, after the untimely demise of his secretary Anwar, Shah Rukh has employed Karuna Badwal to manage his affairs.

Zenobia is a permanent fixture in Akshay’s entourage at hotel corridors, his make-up trailer and even flies to foreign destinations to co-ordinate his diary. “I have come to depend so much on Zenobia that I’m completely lost if she is not around,’’ the star admits.
