October 04, 2009, (Sawf News) – Akshay Kumar recently signed on for debutant Prateek Chakravarthy’s next without even blinking an eyelid, let alone reading the script.

Prateek is the grandson of producer Pramod Chakravarthy, who gave the Kambakhat Ishq star a break in Bollywood in 1992 with Deedar opposite Karishma Kapoor. Over the years Akshay Kumar has never failed to acknowledge his gratitude to his mentor, who is known as Parmod da.

A couple of years ago Akshay had introduced Prateek to one of his favorite directors, Vipul Shah, who took Prateek under his wings as assistant director for London Dreams and Action Replay.

We guess this film fills in for the Kunal Kohli’s Rome based romantic caper that Akshay pulled out from late last month.

Akshay, 42, is currently filming for Sajid Khan’s Housefull in Macau with co-star Deepika Padukone.

There is no breather for Akshay in the days ahead even though he voiced a desire to cut back on his work drastically and spend more time with son Aarav. Last month he signed two new films – Blue director Tony D’Souza’s untitled midair action thriller with co-star John abraham and Chandni Chowk to China director, Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House opposite Anushka Sharma.

Akshay Kumar recently graced the cover of L’Officiel India with wife Twinkle, their first ever cover shoot as a couple.
