Gorilla

Gorillas are the largest of the living primates. They are ground-dwelling herbivores that inhabit the forests of Africa. Gorillas are divided into two species and (still under debate as of 2008) either four or five subspecies. The DNA of gorillas is 98%–99% identical to that of a human, and they are the next closest living relatives to humans after the two chimpanzee species.......To cut a long story short, I am the kaala bander residing inside YOU!

If the distributors are happy and calling KI a hit, media by and large is shouting from the roof top that KI is a HIT, many other reliable sources are calling it semi-Hit and our very own Abid has called KI above average, I think there is nothing more to conclude.
I agree that few bloggers have given their opinion aganst KI but thankfully the realistic support of NG in bringing out the truth, has prevailed over them.

But Gorilla after reading the article in India’s leading newspaper Sakaal times, who will listen to these small time magazines like Filmfare or newspapers like the unknown Telegraph?

The whole of India believes that it has flopped, ignoring reports on small time channels like Aaj Tak and NDTV.

There is a saying charity begins at home. It is just not a matter of publishing your article on some lesser known newspaper like Saakal Times pointing out the inaccuracies and inconsistency in BO reporting in India or for that matter some of us here using an online portal to discuss about the box office scams (not everyone has access to internet), the crux of the matter is at least we are discussing not just turning a blind eye. I am sure these sorts of discussions do affect and can bring out a positive change in the long run in the way Indian box office works .

i think the issue is not sakaal times – its a decent paper (happened to read one recently) and its got good reporters (especially one ;-) ) but its being spoiled by wannabe guest columns by people like Jay. Som its fine when its discussed but when it is discussed by dubious BO reporters(if you could call him that) – then the article becomes a sham than a genuine discussion.
btw – ach/rud etc – continue the good work. a little birdie tells me that lot of bollywood types come to NG to look at the analysis here – as much as we may duke it out with each other – i think we speak our mind and have some good discussions around it unlike some copycat sites ;-)

Exactly Beld. Its the cedibilty of the author of the piece.

Just take this week, once FI arrives you will see that with the same Indiafm data and similar method, Rudresh (I have commended him time and again, even when I feel his total not like mine, as the intentions are honourable) has quite an accurate estimate, but the same data by Mr. Jay yields number very close to the total reported numbers by FI, something that IBOS used to do.

No need to get into the adding for or deleting for star X and Y over the obtained number debate.

And the last thing, is it the first time that such ads have appeared for a film? Why a whole tirade against the film, unless and until the WELCOME bashing of TZP in week 1 wounds are still hurting.

One may question the impact of writing an article in Sakaal Times when Telegraph (regional newspaper) is calling it a Hit … a more apt example wud had been Times .. but Times also called Sarkar Raj a hit in first week, only to retract their words later.

Aaj Tak or NDTV calling it a Hit does help to spread the perception (but sad to see anti-perception theorists clutching on to this theory now) … but in reality IBN-CNN is calling KI propaganda a scam … Zee News too … even small time channels like Lehren and the likes are calling it a failure.

Well, morale of the story is if there is a perception going round, there is an anti-perception existing simultaneously too.

Also if producer’s are quoted in Filmfare to pronounce it as a hit – Stardust is saying the opposite.

Anyways, there is nothing left to say this issue anymore.

Taran’s reporting is getting more and more irregular – i dont think anyone shud solely depend on Taran anymore … personally i am shifting to FI more and more, transition in progress.

He is now totally following his policy, first pump up the movie or run it down according to his review, but in the end kind of gives the right rating. Only he knows how this works.

Beld you better off adding “”HH”‘ Here atleast because “‘banda”" have something drastically different meaning in Oriya….
