Bollyvista music review of Omkara
Coming back to the album and its tracks, a cursory glance shows ‘Namak’, ‘Beedi’ and ‘Lakad’ as three of the listed titles and we are reminded of the three essentials of life (as in the Northern plains), often referred to as ‘none’ (‘namak’ or salt), ‘tel’ (oil)’and ‘lakdi’ (‘lakad’ or wood). Interestingly,’tel’ makes way for ‘Beedi’, may be as per the changing times!

Great review Tango! I like Namak a lot more than you did. More importantly, Omkara has stood the test of time and one can still listen to these songs. It is rare to find an album that you can listen to from start to finish without using the FF button.

That is a very important point that you have raised and correctly.
Namak deserved more accloade than what this review says (after the initial few listens). I guess initially ‘Beedi’ and the title track overpowered the rest but Namak got tastier with time. You are right
