I have just read the April 29th issue of Filmfare and come across some new info, well new to me at least. Would like to share, since this magazine is not available on the net. The editor has written this piece on the ‘grey expectations’ from Bollywood this year.
“…grey is the new cool….John Abraham plays a jail convict who gets into cricket winning mode in David Dhawan’s ‘Hook ya Crook’. Aamir Khan comes in as a mysterious student who reforms wayward college students and then disappears in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’. Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi play real world Karim Lala and Dawood Ibrahim in a forthcoming film, while Shahid Kapoor plays a stuttering underworld con-ster in the aptly titled ‘Kaminey’. It’s raining grey.”

Interesting news abt 3 idiots. Also the varied locations of 3 idiots shooting makes me more curious abt plot – Ladakh, Mumbai, Bangalore.

Raj, yes Raju Hirani himself has told in interview that he has taken “idea” from the book but script and story is very different from the book.

After portraying Dawood in Company (well .. somewhat).. it’d be interesting to see Devgan as Karim Lala.. I’ve always been fascinated by Karim… and it’d be nice to see his bipic on screen.. hopefully by the right director though.
