If Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj have ANY sense they will never let this talentless hack back into YRF again! I have never seen a worse director in mainstream films, maybe Sanjay Gadhvi comes close.

    True Neelu.

This guy used to talk so much on script and orignality, but all his three movies were Hollywood DVD Indianised versions.

I am not saying that others do not do that, but then they do not go around acting like holy cows.

He is so full of himself, stuck up and irritating – and for what? The stupid, unoriginal films that he makes? Mind you I am blaming YRF for letting him do that so far – but der aaye durust aaye – ab isko bahar karo!

Neelu he not only thinks that he is a very good filmmaker but also thinks that he is extremely good looking (even by Hollywood standards). Trust me I mean that :-)

He almost launched hinself as a hero!

He has made 4 movies with 50% success rate. (MSDK, HT, Fanaa, TPTM). I liked HT decently.

Hum Tum was just a Bombay-Delhi success. The outright s. hit is Fanaa.

RKS- Hum tum was a When Harry Met Sally rip off. How could you like it after seeing the brilliant original.

Chalo ek waqt ko I did not mind MSDK because I did not quite like You’ve Got Mail.

Bunty aur Babli was much better than Hum Tum in that youthful kind of genre. I never saw the point of such a blatant remake as Hum Tum.

If he really thinks he is good looking and will act, then god save us!

Kunal sucks as a director, and YRF is responsible for introducing him as a director. None of the directors introduced by YRF are impressive.

I would say that I hate YRF for foisting Kunal Kohli on us. But then they did introduce Shaad Ali (is he Muzaffar Ali’s son?) and I like both BnB and JBJ, Siddharth Anand (hopefully on BAH type track – love that film), and Vijay Krishna Acharya – Tashan was a zany crazy film that I like a lot. Their biggest crimes are Gadhvi and Kohli.

Tango – It would be unfair to compare HT with WHMT. HT is Indianized version like many other movies. I liked the concept of cartoons in a Hindi movie and music was decent. I am not defending HT, just that I didn’t mind seeing it.

and incidentally a cartoonist as the protagonist in HT was not the first time done in Hindi films. Guru Dutt did it in ‘MR & MRS 55′. Great movie and awesome music. Its a fun watch. Check it out. Madhubala looks AMAZINGLY ethereal in the movie. Anyone remember this from a repertoire done on his films on Doordarshan way back when in the late 80s?

Aarkayne – I did see Mr and Mrs 55 along with Aar paar and Sahib Biwi and Ghulam on DD. I think they showed RK’s aag,Shri 420 and Bobby along with three Ray films.

Kunal Kohli used to come on zeetv 10 years ago as a film reviewer and used to talk about how films should be made. And yes,he thinks highly of himself. He is a medioacre director.
