‘I am a Barbie girl’ – Well, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would no more sing these words. Of course, it wouldn’t be a favorite song for this girl anymore. Quite puzzling, isn’t? The World’s beauteous woman often crowned for various titles was approached to be endorsed as Barbie Girl. But due to her professional commitments she had to postpone their Endeavour. At the turn of the century by which time Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had become a house hold name the world over Mattel again proposed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan endorse the Barbie doll but as her prior commitments stretched her for time she had to decline yet again. The turn of the millennium special edition celebrity doll was to feature Naomi Campbell etc .

Here again on the eve of the favorite doll’s 50th Anniversary, Aishwarya is still the most sought after celebrities to be impersonated as a celebrity Barbie. Mattel was also keen to have her walk the ramp on Lakme Fashion Week ‘Barbie dolled up’ in a winning design as Single Likeness Barbie, which would be unveiled and auctioned for a charity of her choice. Conversely due to her prior commitments (filming of Vipul Shah’s Action Replay & her being honored Padmashree) she opted out of the event as she did not want to inconvenience the producer/director anymore while taking time out to this event.
Meanwhile Katrina Kaif, who loves every thing rejected by Aish, grabbed the opportunity , and walked the ramp for Mattel, wearing a Barbie costume. You can call it Chance pe dance…..AishAish

After ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, it’s Salman Khan’s current flame Katrina’s turn to doll up, but for the ramp only…
means The company will not creat dolls that will be the lookalike of Katrina …so Indian Barbie still on a hold !!!

   It’s official: Katrina Kaif is the new Barbie girl. Rubbishing the buzz that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was to be the new face of the Barbie doll, the new super-confident Katrina Kaif quips, “As far as I know, Aishwarya was never under consideration. It was me. So I don’t know where these stories came from.”

   Katrina’s face will now adorn those of Barbie dolls worldwide. And the actress is for once openly flattered.
   “I’d call it a fun honour.

   KAT CALL: Katrina Kaif in a pink dress like the one designed for the Katrina Barbie at the Fashion Week yesterday.
