Sachin scored his 42 nd Test TON.Earlier he had scored his 43 rd ODI Ton at Christ Church. Now he has 85 International centuries in all and ahead by atleast 22 centuries of the second most century scorer and that is Ricky Ponting.
Sachin is playing some of his best cricket from 2007 ,after the world cup debacle..In 2007 itself he scored some astonishing innings but got out in nervous ninties atleast 6 times.Things turned around in 2008 and Sachin scored a great knock against Australia, in Sydney Finals of the Triangular series ,to win the match for India. He followed this with another 91 in the second innings to win the Finals for the country ,which statred a series of ODI wins for India.
In tests too Sachin showed his experince against the aussies both at Home and away and he was instrumental in all the three wins against the world champions(Perth,Ahmedabad and Nagpur)
Sachin followed this performance with a match winning century at Chennai againt the English team and now the 160 against NZ at Hamilton.
Since Sachin is in his prime form and fitness, it is quite evident that there is some steam left of this great batsman. Can he really go and score the magical 100 centuries in international cricket which would make him immortal in cricket folkfore??

If fitness supports Sachin for another 2 years..i am sure he would cross the 100 Ton Barrier in international cricket.

Came home early from work just to watch him, and he did not disappoint! (I love these down under matches, they start at 6 PM (NZ) or around 7PM (Australia) and I can watch the whole match and sleep at a reasonable hour…

Got up at 3 AM today to watch Sachin bat and it was totally worth it
He played a delightful array of shots today, especially in the first half an hour or so. Some of those cover drives were just sublime!!

He has a fair shot at 100 international centuries imo.

The shot where Sachin made just a backfoot push and the ball raced to the the straight boundary was a treat to watch. This to me summed up the mental frame schin is in.Since this indian team is full of match winners ,Sachin has the luxury of expressing himself with the bat,the luxury he never had throughout his career. The arrogance in that shot summs up the pshyche of this Indian team.

quite possible if his body holds
he is still the best and most consistent indian batter around and arguably the greatest batter the game has ever seen(on many constraint even better than bradman)
when they talk of odi they compare him to viv richards and when they talk about test they compare him with bradman
one name is common in both the case and what makes it more remarkable is the great amount of cricket with even bigger expectation he has carried on
effect of this is visible on even 3rd generation cricketers like sehwag, yuvraj, rohit(who modelled their game on him and consider him as their role model)

4 test hundread in last 5 matches
seven score of 90’s in last 20 months
over 1000 test run in tests last years and the best indian odi batsman in last 20 months and the people talk about lack of form
this is what makes sachin tendulkar who even fails in few innings make news

Rockstar,
Agree here.Infact in last 20 months Sachin has scored in every important matches and at crucial stages of the innings.Infact India have not a lost test match since 1999 where Sachin has scored a century.

We were a bit sloppy towards the end. Nevertheless, a comprehensive victory! Harbhajan bowled well today.
