Hey Everyone!
On behalf of Rohit, I would like the members to come up with suggestions towards the betterment of this site “NAACHGAANA”. Like Kaveetaaji asked for the “edit” function (editing of one’s own comment) few days back, feel free to put forth your concerns and queries, views on what is working and what is not, the privileges you want as members of this site. I am sure Rohit and Rks will try to take care of those issues.

Art is a subjective thing for sure - but someone claiming a mediocre piece of art (music in this case) ...

Moderators,
When we open the NG home page..The posters that are showing are not representiive in nature….Its showing only actors cocerned to RGV factory…Clearly SRK and Akkis posters are missing and there is a overdose of Bacchans there..Although i do not mind BIG B there..but Jr B is overly shown there…
I sincerely believe SRK,Aamir,Akshay and HR deserves more posters there…

My suggestion is
I. Have a FAQ link for the members which could have answers to -
1. How to load a gravater?
2. How to attache a link in the comments?
3. How to add a media file in a post?
4. How to add a media file in the comment?
etc.
II. Have an active “contact us” link for viewers and for members
III. “Mail your stars” link – where mails can be posted by visitors to their star’s blog free of cost (Som can do the postings) or have a link to star’s blog where viewers can post their comments themselves.
IV. Have a link by stars/directors/etc for the viewers so that a pure Akshay fan can get instant links to her favourite star or a pure Salman fan can get the latest SRK bashing. Members can help the cause by tagging their posts.

Sakshatkara – We already have posts for most of the things. A new members is always given those links and there is a basic assumption that current members have read those posts when posted. But making them at one place as FAQ is a good suggestion and would reduce lot of headache.

Thoughtful Som.
Wordpress now provides the nifty addition of threading comments. It simply means that one can respond to the relevant comment directly. Accessing Settings>discussion> option, you need to select ‘yes’ for comment threads and the number depth..and voila. we can then click on the ‘reply’ option below each comment. Have opted for it on my blog. It does simplify things.
Also maybe we could have numbered comments. Sometimes when one needs to address or refer to a previous comment up there high above,it can get difficult. Threading would of course be the best option,if not numbered comments.
Another suggestion.We do need more original posts. While we should not make it mandatory for all members to write as a rule. Yet a gentle nudge reminding dormant members to contribute may be helpful. It doesnt have to be an erudite essay, even a simple soliloquy-ish post expressing personal tastes would do. After all that is one of the reasons for blogging.

Good to see colours and posters back, on NG.
I like the black and yellow contrast, but would prefer a more subued colour (instead of military green) at the outer most boundary.
