My favourite moment and arguably few glimpses of Aamir Khan’s directorial brilliance in Taare Zameen Par.

Ishan decides to leave the school without anyone’s notice and starts strolling along the street. Everything he espies in the street fascinates and enthralls him:The little kid on his father’s shoulders, a painter climbing a building, the peddlers, the beggars, and the gentle breeze sighing through the sea and more importantly the freedom he enjoys; “A Little Sweet, A Little Sour, A Little Close Not Too Far, All I Need, All I Need, All I Need Is To Be Free”.

He has been struck by the vivacity of daily life, the animated street life, something he has not seen experienced before, the things he has never stumbled across. Eshan’s curiosity and amusement, his blissful adventures come together beautifully through a montage of evocative images. The world is seen through Ishan’s eyes. The song is played with such beauty and innocence that it captures the immediacy and essence of a kid. It explores the simplicity, the sublimeness of the childhood by putting itself in sync with the cadences of everyday life.

If by Original director you mean Amol – then Amol himself has said that he has not directed TZP …in a week’s time no one can direct whole movie.

BTW this song was directed by Aamir on phone…as there used to be crowd whereever Aamir went. This is the only thing which is directed “remotely” by aamir in TZP..he does not like things to be done this way….btw that was the reason of his spat with Mahesh Bhatt.

Amole clearly stated that he had no idea why someone who was involved and directing all the way through (i.e himself) was NOT DIRECTOR! But it is nice to be deluded.
