Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! was completed on 12th January on a huge set at Filmistan Studios. It was the last shooting schedule of the film which went on for 40 days.

It doesn’t need to be emphasised that the film, starring Madhuri Dixit, Salman Khan, Mohnish Bahl and Renu­ka Shahane, went on to be­come one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema when it was released later that year.

Incidentally, Madhuri Dixit wept in her make-up room on the last day of shooting as she removed the grease paint for the last time on the film’s set. Five days earlier, Salman Khan had finished his shooting for the film and he too cried when he took Sooraj’s leave. The unit had become like one big family while making the film.

Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla participated in song picturisations on January 10 and 11. While Madhuri shot for Anjaam and her dance was choreographed by Saroj Khan, Juhi was shooting for Naajayaz and the choreography was done by Saroj Khan’s son, Raju Khan. Coincidentally, both the heroines were wearing the 9-yard saree in Maha­rashtrian style for the songs.
