Mumbai, Feb 16: Hrithik Roshan’s much awaited romantic thriller ‘Kites’ reportedly has sequences inspired by Hollywood. Since the film is going to be full of action, it would have thrilling scenes similar to those in Hollywood magnum opus ‘Bad Boys 2’ and ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’.
According to our source, for shooting a difficult car chase sequence similar to that in ‘Bad Boys 2’, where the villain pushes cars off an automobile mover, the cast and crew of ‘Kites’ moved to Santa Fe in New Mexico. The scene reportedly needed a lot of preparation and was later shot over a span of three days.
Reports reveal that some second-hand cars were initially purchased for the shot. These cars were then modified to make them look new, and later they were used for the stunt directed by action director Dick Ziker. But grapevine has it that since the Roshans weren`t quite happy with Ziker’s work, the scene had to be re-shot with a new action director Spiro Razatos to bring out the perfect thrilling experience.
‘Kites’ has been shot extensively in and around US. The Hrithik-Barbara starrer is set to hit cinema screens later this year.

After the Matchpoint Row ,we will see some people commenting how BAD ‘Bad boys’ was and how it could affect Kites prospects at the BO!(Although BB had some fab action sequences)

Raj,
There are quite a few who are trying to create a negative impression for kites even though the first promo is yet to hit the screens as well as the OFFICIAL first look !They make the same “efforts” when an srk movie releases but to no avail on both the occasions .Alas!

There is no “effort” from my end…but its a sure shot disaster which I can see… and there is a fun in betting such things ..without any money involved.. If you beleive that aam janta will not go to see films based on our silly talking at NG then I am sorry..I disagree.

Can’t say that it looks like a sure shot disaster. That term can at best be reserved for films of certain stars but not Hrithik in this case. Kites is risky, but so was Ghajini (and we know the fate of Ghajini at the BO), and unlike the latter Kites has a fairly good conjugation of action, thriller, romance, dance, in addition to carrying a cross border appeal.
There is no harm in betting, but baseless bets without rationale become a source of mirth and ridicule when such bets fail for instance

Sorry Utkal, I disagree.
In fact, I see Kites as a sureshot success, let alone disaster.

The other thing to remember and this is for record is so that we do not have discussions in iteration around the same confounded topic – Kites distribution rights has an open ended clause and that does not mean that it will be sold sure shot for 100 crores upfront. There is an in built clause of guaranteed return for the distributor otherwise the producer pays the distributor. This was discussed in another thread by Tango and Achilles.

ritz,
We all are a part of the Aam junta and If you think that talking at NG is “silly” and beneath your “dignity”,you should abstain from participating in our discussions or be a mute spectator at best.
Going by the extreme predictions and the curiosity levels of kites’ detractors ,7 seven months prior to its release,it only reinforces the fact that Kites is being eagerly awaited not only by the fans but even its critics! In all probability it will open historically.
Detractors of kites dont really have any issue with the multicrore deal or its aftermath ,they dont give a damn if its a Matchpoint remake or of Bad Boys, the actual problem is with the one who stars in it-Hrithik Roshan. They want to see him fail anyhow .But alas, that is not going to happen.
They had a similar agenda for all his movies be it Krrish,D2 or JA and the amusing part is that each time they had to bite the dust .
