In all this talk of who dominates as a star let us not forget that the rest of the world is a huge territory that is owned by SRK.

The inaugural of this place rivals the fireworks at the Beijing Olympics!

King Khan’s Royal Party
Shah Rukh hosted a party in his suite, which lasted till the wee hours of the morning; it had Hollywood’s biggest stars in attendance
No one can quite throw a huge bash like Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan. And this holds true, not just in Mumbai, but also in Dubai.
Says a source, “After the launch party of Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, hosted by international hotelier, Sol Kerzner (Chairman- Kerzner International) and Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, SRK and Gauri hosted a party at their Atlantis Bridge Suite (costs £14,000 a night).”
Rocking on all night
The source adds, “At the after-launch party, SRK and Gauri played host to some of Hollywood’s biggest names like Robert De Niro, Gerard Butler, Mischa Barton, Mary-Kate Olsen, Kylie Minogue, Charlize Theron, Lindsay Lohan, Wesley Snipes, tycoon Richard Branson and some of SRK’s close friends from B-Town like Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan, Arjun and Mehr Rampal and Farhan Akhtar.
The rocking party went on till the wee hours of the morning.”
Says Shah Rukh, “Yes we finished at 7 am and had a great time.
I feel that I had to take care of the guests because Sultan (Ahmed Bin Sulayem), the owner of Nakheel Atlantis treats me with much love and goodness.
I personally invited all the guests.
Sultan gave me my house here on The Palms.”
Shah Rukh is the owner of a 58 million-dirham Signature Villa on the Palm Islands at Jumeirah in Dubai and has acquired yet another apartment in the Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard, which he is developing in Dubai.
When asked if he had a chance to speak to Robert De Niro on cinema, Shah Rukh says, “No, we couldn’t speak with De Niro about cinema because Hrithik, Farhan and I just couldn’t stop smiling and behaving like mad fans but we had great conversations with the other actors, Wesley Snipes, Gerard Butler, Lindsay Lohan and singer Kylie Minogue.
All of them were so sweet, loving and cool. The Sultan was with his other guests.
There were hundreds of people.”
Shah Rukh adds that some Hollywood stars are acquainted with Indian cinema.
“Though some of them have seen Indian films we were actually partying and having fun.
We hardly spoke about work and their perception of Indian cinema.”
Other celebs including supermodels Agyness Deyn, Petra Nemcova and Yasmin Le Bon, musicans Janet Jackson, Lily Allen and Shirley Bassey, sports legends like Michael Jordan and Boris Becker were present.
The Royal Family of Dubai was also in attendance.

Jokes aside, gabs, did u see the fireworks. Never seen anything like that. They put on a real show. Priyanka was awful tho in that wierd costume. Kylie got paid 2m for a 30 min performance. And we are supposedly in a recession!
Comment by Gabber on 22 November 2008:
@beld, “Rab ne Bana di toothache”
Comment by neelu on 22 November 2008:
Those fireworks rivaled the Olympics - some Diwali! Looks like Dubai will become the melting pot for blending East and West.

hI EVERY1!
i WAS AT THE palm when this happened… beleive me, pictures are nothing compared to the actual show.. bunked office and went to watch the fireworks… they had blocked all roads since 2pm in the afternoon… we were sitting at one of the beaches on the palm and just waiting waiting waiting…
well, it felt like all the cars in the world were there that time…well they spent close to $3mn just in fireworks… damn!
but the irony now..
the next day, Atlantis rooms cheapest rate was just around rs 6000, and its just around rs 2500 today!

Thanks devesh, yeah my friend in Dubai gave me the lowdown on this; I’m sure it must have been quite a spectacle, although a bit too reminiscent of “Let them eat cake” for my liking…

At 2am the party was still going strong and a select few – including me of course - headed to the bash thrown by the ‘King of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan in his $30,000-a-night suite.
My head, along with half the room, was turned when a pint-sized Kylie turned up at 5am, still ready to party after giving a fantastic performance earlier on.
Shah Rukh was the perfect host and told me how he’d arranged for his kitchen staff to arrange a special meal of chicken satay and spring rolls for the singer.
Unlike me, who was able to breeze into the party, famous twin Mary Kate Olsen was turned away and had to rely on pal Mischa Barton to help get her in. She was finally allowed to join the rest of us – after 30 minutes…
