Hrithik Roshan to play God!

Sajnay Khan, producer of the popular television serial The Sword of Tipu Sultan will now produce a film called The Legend of Rama, Mumbai Mirror reports. And playing Lord Rama will be his son-in-law Hrithik Roshan.

Confirming the news, Zayed Khan told Mumbai Mirror, “My father is indeed making the Ramayan. It’s called The Legend of Rama. He has been planning this film for the last three years and looking for (someone) perfect to play Rama. And who but Hrithik could be the perfect choice for the role?”

It seems Amitabh Bachchan had agreed to play the role of Rama’s father Dashratha about two years ago. Zayed, of course, will play the younger brother Laxman.

The paper reports that Sanjay Khan and Fattukh Dhondy and Zayed Khan have co-scripted the film and that the actors are yet to be cast in the roles of Sita and Ravana.

    This is going to be confusing. Amitabh playing Dasrath and Hrithik playing Ram in the same movie and Abhi playing Ram in a movie titled Ravan.

    Arun: Zayed has experience playing Lakshman. ;)

    How was the Tipu Sultan series? Someone recommended it highly and I bought it but have yet to watch it.

    Dont think Sanjay Khan will be able to sign his son-in-law that easily … unless the script is really good here …. but did I read Zayed is scripting this? LOL

    anyways, i wonder Hrithik will agree to do a movie where he will be challenged by as great an actor as Zayed Khan.

    Jay - 4 films? thats an impossibility with this man … but Krrish 2 is in pipeline for a long time now, Filmkraft will start on it once Kites releases.

    Are you talking about Sanjay Khan’s “The Sword of Tipu Sultan”? I saw it years ago as a teenager, but really liked it then, don’t know it will have “aged”…it’s an adaptation of Bhagwan Gidwani’s novel of the same name, which might be quicker to get through!

    Dont bother Aarohi, neither Amitabh nor Hrithik is going to do this.

    It will end up with zayed and fardeen playing ram-laxman and feroz khan as dasrath!
