Hrithik, Ash May Come Together Again

That director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has signed on Hrithik Roshan to play the lead in his next movie is old hat now. But what is really creating a buzz is the possibility of the director getting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the female lead in the movie.

There has been no confirmation of this piece of news, but the buzz in B town is strong enough. Bhansali’s film is expected to go on the floor by next July. If the news is true, then this could be Hrithik and Ash’s third film together after Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar. Their chemistry was palpable in both films and Bhansali must be counting on that to do the trick for his next untitled venture. It is supposed to be a romantic tale penned by the director himself. Of course, Bhansali and Ash have worked together before in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, probably the biggest hit of Ash’s career. It will be a first time for him and Hrithik though. Earlier, Bhansali was planning on making Heera Mandi, but the film required a huge cast. It seems that hassle of coordinating the dates of so many actors has forced Bhansali to shelve the project for now and has decided to go ahead with this mature love story starring Ash and Hrithik. Guess we will have to wait for an official announcement on this one. Ash, who is currently shooting for Mani Ratnam, is expected to formally sign the film soon.

Hrithik Roshan has become quite choosy of late and this is quite apparent by the fact that the only film Hrithik has signed after his home production Kites is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next. Hrithik confirmed this and said, “Sanjay Bhansali’s film is the only film that I’ve accepted after Kites. I just jumped at it. We’re both very passionate film persons.Though there’s one other script that I’m looking at, nothing touched my soul except Bhansali’s script.”

“I believe he’s passionate and his passion is evident in his films. I thought Devdas and Saawariya were spectacular. I’m no one to judge, but I thought Saawariya was wrongly marketed.Otherwise it was as passionate as his earlier films,” raved Hrithik about Bhansali

Hrithik is also pretty excited about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being his co-star in the film. After all they shared a very special chemistry in Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa-Akbar. “The pairing with Aishwarya will be as special as the film that will project it. It’s always about how committed and passionate the script allows us to be. Given Sanjay’s calibre I don’t see why we won’t be able to recreate the same chemistry again. The project is definitely going into a different territory, in more ways than one,” he said, hinting at a unique shooting location.

The film will require a great deal of emotional wrenching from Hrithik. “I feel all the physical pain and turmoil that I’ve gone through in the recent past will add to my experiences as an actor. The more turmoil I go through the better I am as an actor. My work is about creativity and not about the business side of it. I know Sanjay’s film will offer me optimum emotional sustenance,” he signed off.

Ash is excited to team up again with her hit jodi, Hrithik Roshan for Bhansali’s next, reports Prithwish Ganguly.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who will be again sharing screen space with Hrithik Roshan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming film, says both the actors are excited about their ‘reunion’ as they have delivered hits whenever they have teamed up.

Hrithik and Aishwarya sizzled the screen when they came together in the crook versus police thriller Dhoom:2 and they also stole the show in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar, a film which delved into the private world of the Mughal emperor Akbar and his wife Jodhabai. Both the films saw good box office draws.

The former Miss World says, “We have been paired in two films which were completely different from each other in terms of genre and setting. Both the films thankfully went on to do very good business and so we are obviously very excited as colleagues that we are coming together on screen for such a magnificent director (Sanjay Leela Bhansali).”

Ash thinks that she and Hrithik have become an established pair in Bollywood and have got the stamp of approval from her audience and fans.

Aishwarya adds, “We are thankful to the people who have gone and seen our films which means they had accepted us as co-stars on screen and made both the films that we had been paired earlier good hits. We are really looking forward to doing this film. Hrithik and me we have shared a good rapport and it is great that we will do something very different with Sanjay.”

Ash also admits that she couldn’t have got a better co-star than Hrithik…

“When people have accepted our films that means they have accepted us as co-stars too. That means they like to see us. Hrithik has been a great colleague to work with. From Dhoom:2 to Jodhaa Akbar it has been wonderful to work with him. We are looking forward to give something good to the audiences this time too,” she ends.

    Shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film will begin in July, and the director has managed to rope in Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the lead roles.

    Hrithik and Aishwarya were previously paired in Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar and are a hit pair. Bhansali, whose last film Saawariya flopped very badly, hopes the Hrithik-Ash magic will continue at the box office.

    According to Mid Day, Bhansali shelved his Heera Mandi because of the film’s sheer magnitude and the hassles of getting an ensemble cast together for a single shooting schedule. He was looking for a mature on-screen couple and went for Hrithik and Aishwarya because he liked their pairing in Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar.

    Sanjay Leela Bhansali is planning his next, which mounts sets in July. The producer-director has roped in Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to essay the lead roles. There was talk of the director making a multi-starrer Heera Mandi but it isn’t in his future plans anymore.

    Hrithik and Aishwarya’s previous pairings (Dhoom: 2 and Jodhaa Akbar) were quite well received. The director, who went into a shell after Saawariya, expects their lucky streak will continue.

    An industry reveals, “Sanjay has been trying to get his Heera Mandi off the ground for a long time. Because of the film’s sheer magnitude and the hassles of getting an ensemble cast together for a single shooting schedule, he gave up and began penning his next, a romantic feature, earlier this year.”

    The source continues, “He really liked Hrithik and Aishwarya’s chemistry in Jodhaa Akbar. He was looking for a mature on-screen couple to essay the role and they fitted the role to the T. Incidentally, this will be the first time, Bhansali will work with Hrithik.”

    Waiting for Aish

    According to an insider, “Hrithik has signed on the dotted line and even allotted his dates for the shooting, which starts in the second week of July. Aishwarya has heard the script and has liked her part but because she is away shooting for Mani Ratnam’s next, she has not been signed on officially. She has confirmed her dates for the movie, though,” the source concluded.

    Sanjay Leela Bhansali remained unavailable for comment.

    An original contemporary matured love story featuring Hrithik and Aish written and directed by SLB? On paper it sounds great.

    If this movie goes on floor in July 2009, then after Kites shooting, Hrithik will again be taking a 6 months break … this time holidays in Bora Bora with Mori Mori?

    If DHOOM 2 and JODHAA AKBAR were not enough than prepare yourself for yet another outing with the rocking chemistry of Hrithik– Ash!

    Hrithik and Ash’s fantabulous chemistry in DHOOM:2 & JODHAA AKBAR worked wonders at Box–office. Both the films earned a superhit status. And because of that today the jodi is touted as the most sought after pair in Bollywood. Many filmmakers are looking forward to get this hot favourite jodi on board. And one such filmmaker who is all set to get them together once again is none other than our maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While Hrithik is already a part of this project, the lead actress opposite Hrithik is yet to be signed. And there’s a strong buzz that Sanjay is keen to have Ash in this film.

    Everyone’s well aware that it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM and DEVDAS, which made a difference to Ash’s career. Also, seeing the past record & Hrithik already being part of this untitled film, there seems to be no such reason as to why Ash would not want to be a part of this upcoming Bhansali film.

    If the trio comes together than expect nothing less than firework!

    Ach- A teaser for you like the one you tried on me in the other thread ;)

    How many hit films have Hrithik given barring his home production and Aish? Obviously Filmkraft is one of the most established banner and they can make even a Harbhajan Singh an overnight star and if there is one actress who is most established currently, she is Aishwarya.

    Aish was the centre of attraction in D2 and JA. Without her I doubt if these two would have got little prestige and overseas collections.

    How many blockbusters did FilmKraft have before Hrithik made his debut? How many Blockbusters/Superhits did Aish have in BW before she paired with Hrithik?

    How many Harbhajans did Filmkraft churn out?

    How many times of D2 and JA’s overseas business did Ash’s previous movies did (except Devdas with SRK/Madhuri … even which did less than D2 and JA)?

    How much did Ash’s recent releases like UJ and SR or even Guru do overseas?

    If you rank the producers/production houses … where does Filmkraft stand? And in its entire history at when did gain reputation of whatever public perception it enjoys?

    And I love your doubts … (p)oops! … i mean illusions to be precise.
